    Dual engine kart

wheres the right engines crankshaft connecting to in the pic? i was leaning towards the RAGB side because i have pretty much no knowledge in any sort of hardware or anything of that nature and just seemed simpler but i guess i might do the horizontal conversion then.

vertical engine conversion with BEVEL GEARS

is the right angle gear box a common part in home made go karts?

vertical engine conversion with BEVEL GEARS

well the plan is to mount two 5 HP victor lawn mower engines to the chassis, right angle gear boxes joining the crankshafts to a single sprocket in the middle. the chain on this sprocketwill run to the single torque converter, from the there to the jack shaft to the rear live axle (or no jack...

vertical engine conversion with BEVEL GEARS

ive heard people say the gears would get worn out fast without any lubrication but this seems like a an easily fixed problem by means of a constant oil bath system or just frequent lubricating of the gears. the box just seems like it would hinder customisation of shafts, gear placement, etc.

    Dual engine kart

if i had two identical engines running simultaneously wouldnt the rpm of the two be synchronized? and if it was slightly off would it matter that much once the power has gone through the torque converter and transferred to a live axle?

    Dual engine kart

am assembling a dual lawn mower engine kart for hardcore off road karting using victor mowers linked to a single torque converter. havnt seen many dual engine kart except for a dual chain saw engine kart that had fast speed once in motion but poor power at low speeds. is there a reason these...

What steel piping for chassis and frame?

which type of steel is best for off road karting to hold a dual lawn mower engine powered kart? and what thickness and diameter?

vertical engine conversion with BEVEL GEARS

exactly, or even with out the box/casing, just weld the gear on the bottom of the vertical shaft from the engine and have the corresponding gear mesh and its shaft run to the torque converter

vertical engine conversion with BEVEL GEARS

for converting a vertical engine (lawn mower) into a horizontal engine no one has considered the simple idea of bevel gears? simple way of transferring the energy perpendicular to the shaft. can anyone see any problems with this concept?
