I completely understand and vibe with the quality of this project vs. the near to unbelievable lack of a shop and tools that would support such quality.

I grew up poor and therefore, resourceful. I am naturally either OCD or just plain anal. My focus on the end result looking like a professional, custom build is relentless to a fault. I built my first bicycle from a collection of things I found in alleys and trash cans. I had no idea what I was doing but I wanted a bike and it had to be cool. Funny, I thought Vaseline made good grease. Sandpaper, rattle can paint, and my Dad's tiny box of random tools were my friends. Paper route money helped with things like buying the paint, or a new inner tube. I used leaded gas to clean parts - barehanded - totally naive, and I should probably be dead. That first one built memories, but it also taught me what was possible with just your hands and a lot of determination.

There are ways to achieve excellence. It just takes more focus and effort. So as I peruse this thread, drooling, I gain even more respect for the patience, persistence and yeah, probably a ton of anal retentiveness to achieve the results we're seeing.

Spot on. That story about washing parts in leaded gas and using Vaseline brings back memories! It just goes to show that an eye for detail and relentless persistence beat a $50k shop full of machinery every single time. Respect to both of you for that old-school maker mindset.

I haven't looked at this project in a month or so. I think we all know it, but nobody has said it yet.
We all wish we had some of that ODC stuff you are using. Your work is way, way over the top.

Will the radiators* have fans?

*I am not obsessed with radiators.

Over all length I am not sure, I know the width from outside front wheel to out side front wheel is a bit over 48" outside rear wheels is 58" ish and wheelbase to the center of the front 2 wheels is about 76" I will probably need fans with the odd orientation. Spark wizard I will let you know if I'm not brave enough to do it! Yes it's tons of OCD, not disposable money but I saved just enough to try to find a way to make a living doing something like this because i discovered I really love it!
