Howdy All,

I searched first. My search skills are on par with my wiring skills--sub par.

Anyway, does anybody have a good wiring diagram for an electric start Predator 420?

I finally got everything (except brakes) ready to go on the Kilowatt and can't figure out how to hook up the wiring.

The original key switch was removed from it's normal place on the engine and mounted under the steering wheel. A mass of wires dangle from the key switch.

I found some diagrams on line, but they are inconclusive and (even) contradictory.

The on line manual doesn't help. I know there is a tech support line phone number in the manual, but I don't speak Chinese.

Thanks in advance.

I actually had to review your Kilowatt thread to learn the 420cc engine you have was already on the kart. Is your engine wiring butchered or cut up by the previous owner or are you trying to rebuild the wiring from scratch?

Hellion,

Thanks. That's very helpful. The previous owner did a number on the wiring. See attached pictures...

Man, I tried to go out and make sense of my wiring. Its too butchered because I was in too much of a hurry when I did it.

Maybe not butchered but I didnt use same color wiring (so I cant trace colors) and its all heat shrunk together as a sort of wire harness I can remove when needed.

If needed, I can remove and unravel it but LOL lets see if you can figure it out first. Might take me a couple/few hours to get it out and back in.

ES,

It would be real helpful if you could just show/tell me how the solenoid is wired in. My engine has a small separate solenoid. I don't know if it's "factory" or add on. It is visible in the E7220 picture I posted above. Other than that (with Hellion's) picture above I think I might be able to cipher this multi-colored bowl of spaghetti the previous owner made.

Years ago I owned a Morris Minor. It's a small English car mostly built/designed by the government. Every single wire from stem to stern was black. It was a joy to work on.

Thats what Im trying to make sense of.. Those pieces of duct tape used to say....

I know those two big red ones go to the solenoid AND starter switch. Then coming from the switch, a wire plugs into the smaller tab on the solenoid.

The booted terminal on the solenoid just wraps around to ground the starter, same as yours.

ES,

Thanks. That helps. It's only five wires, but five factorial is 120 combinations! For starters ('scuse the pun) I'm going big wires battery and ground, little wires somewhere else. That simplifies things a bit...

Edwin,

I think I see a crack in the mount closest to the 5/8 or maybe 11/16 bolt in the foreground. Could just be a camera illusion. If you'd like I'd be happy to weld that up for you. Shouldn't take me more than a couple of hours.
