What's crazy its got a stock non hemi pred 212 powering those big wheels. I wish I could swap it for something else but I think the mounting plate wont let me. Will a torque converter help get moving a lot better than the standard clutch will?

Chiron. All 30 series torque converters are basically the same. A bottom dollar unit found on Amazon will be fine. Just buy a quality belt (comet brand) after the original one wears out. That cart came from the factory with a torque converter. Probably removed when the engine was changed. Dumb move. I have the exact same kart with a built 196 and torque converter. Hauls the mail pretty good. Install the converter, and initial acceleration ( 0 to 15 - 18 mph ) will feel like you have triple the horse power compared to the centrifugal clutch. No bull. You will love the change it makes. Nice clean looking kart you got. Build a seat back. Easy to do.
