Day 6
Got home and broke out the propane torch… then the hammer… that was when the yelling started… (Guess I should have made sure my wife didn’t have a headache first…) :ack2:
(Man… I need a work shed again…) Ended up just spraying the bolts down again with penetrating fluid…
Finished...
It is funny how go kart fever effect you... I was in a trade fair (Kinda like a consignment store) a couple of days ago, and I saw this...
First thing that popped into my head was how to make it into a go kart... hehe...
Wow, Brandon... you make a real newbie like me stand with dropped jaw.... :smiley_omg:
Awesome kart!... :cheers2:
Least people like you keep my thought juices flowing.... Great work...
Interesting idea and I may not know what I am talking about...
BUT... any resistance variance between motors would give a different output causing them to turn at different speeds...
Even two identical 1000w motors will give variance in their outputs...
Again this is just what jumps through...
(Guess I still have to wait for the Mods to approve my pictures that I posted yesterday...)
(((Up now... :D Thank you!!!)))
Well here is a small update..
Took a propane torch home from work to try and unfreeze the three shoulder bolts in the front left suspension, but didn't have...
Day 2 Cont.
The tear down went very good, except more troubles were found as I went. Some minor, but a few major.
Broken weld on one of the seat bars…
Burst in one of the tubing… Guess the main frame goes back to work for some minor welding.
The last to be taken apart was the front...
DAY 1
OK guys... Finally got my project home... Couldn't do much with it at work... Coarse it stormed and after carrying the cage into the garage while lightning lit up the sky, I figured the rest could wait tell morning…
Did spend some time sanding down the cage, but not much else yet…
DAY...
UL stopped by my production to do an inspection... (Steve) saw the frame and asked our quality guy about it... Later Steve swung by my desk and told me he had an older 5HP horizontal shaft engine that worked and he would throw it into his car and next time he was near, he would drop it off...
Love the feed-back guys... Like the idea of just getting it together and working first, then start modifying. Am going to work at getting it back close to it's original factory build, with only minor adjustments do to parts.
Have started making my list! :D
First off, I need to get it home...
Might as well start here... Have two daughters (13 & 10) who just got their first experience with a go kart a couple months ago and they loved it. I told one of my fellow workers that I would love to have a go kart for them.
Next thing I know, he comes to work with this!
And a pile of miss...
