need help with this linkage tecumseh 5hp

Is it the linkage that is sticking, or the throttle itself? If the throttle is sticking the it may be due to buildup of some sort on the throttle plate, be it carbon or possibly dirt. Have you tried cleaning the carb?

    electronic shift?

This kit costs roughly $800, a little pricy but its almost all plug and play. If carrying the compressor is alright then air shift could be doable. Im not quite sure how you would deal with the neutral issue though. Also i dont know how well a compressor and air system would fair in a high...

    electronic shift?

I don't know what kind of budget you have, but here is a very nice race proven setup. 100% electronic with 1 moving part. Also provides no lift/no clutch upshifts with auto blip/clutch-less downshifts http://www.flatshifter.com/flat-shifter-max/ Many guys that race bike engine cars (road track)...

I had the same idea of making it an RC given its size, but the cost of the controllers and batteries would put us way over budget.

    My Dually Truck Kart Project

I would get the better wheels if i had the money for it. Given than the wheels were only $3.50 each they fit our budget for putting the kart together. Plus its not going to be driven very aggressively. Better wheels will be put on in the future tho. The throttle will be an atv style thumb...

    My Dually Truck Kart Project

The main part about them im worried about is the tire life and the wheel balance. The wheel half's all slightly wobble when spun, some worse than others. I solved the weak hub/bad bearing issue by replacing the hubs with heavy duty hubs with high speed bearings from BMI. It took a bit of...

    My Dually Truck Kart Project

Haha that would be awesome! I would definitely do that if cost wasn't a concern. We are trying to keep the total project cost under $200

Were definitely going to fab up some fender flares, not sure about doing stacks because of space constraints under the body

Thanks! Yes they are indeed Harbor Freight tires, with the current gearing the projected top speed is only 22mph (with torque converter 10% over drive) at 3500 rpm. The governor has been removed from the engine so I'm unsure of the actual top rpm. Even at 4000 rpm the top speed could only reach...
