    A cheaper clutch

just had another idea, where the brake serves both as a brake, and as the tension releaser for the clutch. as the brake is applied, the belt tension loosens, allowing for easy operation of the clutch, also, this was the gas and brake can be pressed at the same time with no problems

    A cheaper clutch

I've had this idea for a most likely, much cheaper clutch than a centrifugal one, I realize unless the bottom pulley was protected from water, it would slip very easy when wet, but anyways. So, this thing basically is engaged and disengaged by the belts tension, a small idler pulley connected to...

    electric go karts.

I think the reason the indoor theme park ones are so good is because they dont run off batteries, they have a constant feed of power from their antennas that run to the metal ceiling, so they can afford to be more powerful because they wont run out of juice

the magneto looks like this http://www.mech.uq.edu.au/courses/engg1010/dynamics_pracs/prac1/magneto.jpg I wouldn't recommend it though, I've ran stuff off that thing in the past, if you use up to much power with your lights the spark cant jump the gap and the engine dies

    Kart Dimensions

6' is a pretty regular length, as for width a little skinnier for the main frame wouldn't hurt (if your planning on putting some nerf bars between the tires)

    Motor vibration throught Kart ***

the thinner the rubber cushion, the less it'l be able to twist, so I'd go with a fairly thin one. also, if it did twist a bit, you could always use an idler sprocket with an arm attached to a large spring as a nice chain tensioner

    Tach on a single cylinder

So, I've got this tach, its off a good o'l 6 cylinder john deere, it honestly doesn't matter to me that it will only read 3/8 of the actual speed when hooked up, I'm just wondering if any one can tell what wires go where just to make the thing ''work''. I've got a brown wire, a positive (top) a...
