Well it's not really an off road kart. I put it together with scraps that I had laying around. I will never do that again because you just add more time and energy which isn't fun. It's worth waiting for the right material.

Thanks for the response red. I weigh around 180lbs. I always had issues with the drive system such as the chain coming off or the engine would seem to be running a bit hot, though I couldn't confirm it. The thing is if I add a 72 tooth sprocket on the axle the kart will be really slow.

If it's a chinese quad it maybe a 250cc I think the 125cc sized quads are less than 1k $700-$900 US dollars. I would buy it in a heart beat. I have a 110cc that I fixed up and that thing is a lot of fun and has a decent amount of sack for it's engine size.

One thing I don't understand is motorcycle frames don't look more rigid then go karts and they seem to handle the HP I wonder if it's all in the geometry of the frame.

Well in my haste I made the front tires width 44 inches wide from center to center of front tires. The kart seems wider than most go karts and I'm not sure if I should bring the spindles in more or not because I will have a hard time finding an axle long enough to match the width of the front.
