Well, I recently switched careers and we've been absolutely slammed, so I haven't had much time to make progress on it. However, at my new job I do have access to much better tools so I will finish it at some point in the near future. Unfortunately it probably won't get done until next year...
Well, I made a jig to weld my spindles together, then another one to weld the castor plates to the frame. It's about 10° of camber, and 20° of castor. It is adjustable so I'll have some room to play with it.
I haven't made too much progress, still trying to figure out exactly how I'm going to mount the engine... I'm getting there though. Anyways, I got my wheels and I got a steering wheel that the instrument panel from the bike will fit on. These wheels are wiiiiide. They probably won't be much good...
No, it's based on a Solidworks drawing I found of a Tony kart chassis. It's designed to go pretty fast, but I am aware that it's going to be terrifying and an incredibly rough ride.
Anyways, I got the custom rear sprocket that I ordered. Because the gear ratios in the transmission are made for...
Here's a video of the engine running. I'm not sure how to embed a Youtube video on a forum so here's a link.

And another picture. Not much progress, the engine mounts are taking some time. I'm waiting on my spindles and steering shaft.
I'm entering the kart I've been building for about 3 weeks now. It's got the engine from a Kawasaki Ninja ZX6-R.
This is a little bit of a mockup of what the roll bar will be when it's finished.
Today I got my axle, wheel hubs, bearings, and brake disc. I'll be using the rear caliper off the...
So you're saying the front end is going to have too much flex in it for this HP level? Or the back end? The front end on shifter karts is supposed to flex. It allows the inside rear wheel to lift off to remove the need for a differential. I'm not at all worried about the back end flexing. Like I...
Hmmm... I wonder how this guy is handling it. That's an engine off of a Yamaha r1, makes 150hp... Over 40 more than mine. There's a video floating around of him going 181mph down an airstrip and blowing a tire. Crazy stuff... As far as I know he never had issues with his frame twisting.

It's going to get a roll bar with supports going over the motor and attached to the back of the kart, if that's what you mean. It should keep the back end from twisting while still giving me a little flex in the front around corners.
So I recently picked up a totaled Kawasaki Ninja ZX6-R with a running engine. I've got the bike stripped down to the engine and have welded most of my frame. Here's a few pictures of my progress so far. I'm considering entering it in the 2017 build off.
