    clutch and sprocket alignment

yes, I think it all moved to a different thread or something, I had the wrong clutch sprocket so got another whole clutch (the chain was a 40) then I just mounted the clutch hanging off the end of the shaft a bit. Works, goes well, steering is poorly designed and the engine won't idle but it...

What the heck's up with the steering

will trade new clutch (got one with the wrong sprocket) for spindles that are square (if not "outboard slanted") just a thought........

What the heck's up with the steering

Thanks guys. A quick couple taps with a hammer put the right side arm back to where it was, reassembled and did a couple test runs. Good news is the kart runs great. Bad news is I've never tried to drive something so twitchy and scary. I had the alignment pretty decent, just a tad of toe-in...

What the heck's up with the steering

maybe I can redo to the pitman arm to "spread the holes out" don't know if that would get me any benefit to the geometry. I can't really see moving the steering arm/linkage behind the axle, pedals and all that right in the way, not that those can't be redone too I guess, maybe new king pins...

What the heck's up with the steering

I guess I can find straighten what I can, get the linkage back to what it was and run it, maybe redo the whole thing down the road, I want my kid to ride around a bit, but I don't the kart to kill him!

What the heck's up with the steering

thanks for the thread link, I'm learning more and more, yikes. So to "fix" this, I'll have to somewhat reengineer the front end. I sorta thought this was an old commercial cart of some sort but now I'm not so sure, it seems well built but not well designed. I guess I'd like the quickest route...

What the heck's up with the steering

They sure don't look bent, pretty heavy stuff and good welds, something must have bent obviously but it sure doesn't "look" like it. The two spindles don't match exactly, slightly different look to them. I will try to snap some pictures. Aren't spindles side specific? Can't swap 'em?. Well...

What the heck's up with the steering

So we're building a cart, fitted and engine, working stuff out. Got it running a bit took a little spin around the lot, not bad. Then went to move the thing and the front wheels were pointed in different directions. I don't see anything bent. It just looks like the tie rods are too long...

    tecumseh shaft bolt size

I'm having a hard time figuring out the size and thread for a bolt to fit into my Tecumseh OHH 05 6800f's shaft. Testing different combos of size and thread isn't working, could be threads are a bit bunged up, if I knew the correct size I could chase the threads and such but, well, I don't...

    Tecumseh resurrection

installed, still runs poorly but we managed to tear up the lawn briefly yesterday so that's a start, running throttle cable right to the governor arm (not kosher I don't believe) but working, worried the engine will grenade but if it's always under load, it really shouldn't I wouldn't think

    Tecumseh resurrection

just picked 'em up, yep a red one; 640019, o-rings; two 632547

    Tecumseh resurrection

Yes, I tried Jack's but couldn't discern the exact nozzle number. Called the shop I've been harassing, they got 'em, nozzle: 640019, needs two 0-rings. They got those too. I should be set. About $6 totalish. Here's hoping that makes things work better. Will be annoying you all with...

    Tecumseh resurrection

Finally had a chance to do a proper carb tear down, I suspected it was missing bits, yep, there's no emulsion tube in there at all, that's probably not something to be missing, hunting for a source...... tube/nozzle and o-rings it looks like I need Not much luck so far looking up parts. The...
