im using a 1" live axle and i havent bought the axle sprocket yet so ill just get an 80 tooth to give me the 8:1 ratio

1. 19.5 2. blue gx200 clone 3. no governor so around 5000 4. waiting for delivery of a 30 series torque converter 5. no 6. 10 7. thats what i want to know 8. approx. 300lbs 9. off road fairly smooth backyard track 10. hoping for approx 40mph give or take a few(looking mostly for acceleration)

so the 8:1 gearing i was thinking of would probably be pretty good with the same setup (20" tires, 6.5hp clone slightly modified, and torque converter)

in your first post you say you have a 10 tooth jackshaft sprocket and later on you say its a 12 tooth. just wondering which one it actually is because im building a kart that is very similar to this and was wondering if that gear ratio works well?
