First off, THANK YOU to everyone that has responded. the problem is, I can't weld. so I can't take the axle off, or put a new one on. i can't make any modifications to the frame..oh how I wish I could. i was wondering, if i got a Tapered Bearing with a 3/4 ID, would that work?

Yes, I'm using the bearing as an Axle bearing. the go cart is a homemade, one wheel drive go cart. the inner bearing on the drive wheel keeps disintegrating into dust.

So heres my problem, I have a go kart that needs a bearing ID: 3/4 in. and an OD: 1-3/8 in. Well thats fine and dandy except the only bearings that fit are economy bearings. It just so happens that economy bearings are my go kart's favorite food, and it eats them up in 2 days. So that got me...

maybe the chain is too tight causing it to always be engaged with the clutch? that could be why your go kart doesn't idle.
