    New Build component compatability

Cool yeah, thats what I assumed. Thanks So, I'm trying to do my homework, but comprehensive videos on wiring are almost impossible to find. ie; I haven't ever seen a video with someone adding in a precharge circuit. Are there other secret things I should be doing to my set up? like...what...

    New Build component compatability

@Functional Artist , I had great luck with the precharge circuit I made a while back using your videos (much appreciated). I'm curious. Whats the rule of thumb you use to determine the Amp rating for the breaker you use? My battery is rated for 80a continuous, and 120 peak i believe.. what good...

    New Build component compatability

This is good to know. I am going the sabvoton route since it looks like they have the same feature as the Kelly controllers for adjustability. Thanks for the insight guys.

    New Build component compatability

@EpsilonZero @Bmr4Karts If you guys have any experience lowering the continuous amp draw on a controller, I'd love to hear how easy/complicated it is. @Functional Artist Yeah, I was kind of hoping that was the case to be able to program that part of the controller, Just can't seem to find...

    New Build component compatability

Thanks! But looking at these, I'm still not quite understanding something. My battery is rated for 80A continuous and 160 peak... so it wouldn't work with a controller like the one you linked...correct? That one needs 200? I know the motor will just take what its given from the controller...

    New Build component compatability

Hey Folks. Finished up my go kart...ended up with some pretty big issues with the motor/controller. I had it working, then it wouldn't (on repeat...many...many times) When it was moving, it was working great! So, I decided to part it out and start from scratch on a simpler project. Going to be...

Newbie Learning the Kart Ropes. Lots of Questions...HELP!?

After exchanging the sprockets and chain im still running into the same issue of the motor binding and seizing. Finally I removed the entire brake caliper and what do you know...works like a charm now. So evidently the disc and caliper were binding the rear axle. I can't seem to figure out...

This is what I saw on there, but I wasn't sure if the 'cut-off' voltage was the right line item to look at.

Newbie Learning the Kart Ropes. Lots of Questions...HELP!?

Hey, does anyone know how to figure out what a low voltage level for a battery is? I've got a LiFEpo4 72v 42ah battery and I just want to make sure I don't overdischarge. I have a BMS on it, but I want to just keep an eye on things myself as well.

Newbie Learning the Kart Ropes. Lots of Questions...HELP!?

oh yeah, nice. I hadn't seen this before, a trailer hub looks perfect! I'm going to give the live axle a shot for a week or so, and if its still giving me trouble, i'm going to order one of these. great suggestion. thanks. I'll just have to figure out a way to attach the wheel since its a live...

Newbie Learning the Kart Ropes. Lots of Questions...HELP!?

Ah, ok, just spent some time in the shop and figured out what the main issue is...this solves problems 1 and 2 if I can solve it. It looks likenthe axle spocket I have isnt exactly circular...this each rotation creates severe tension and then slack on the chain...when trying to start in the...

Newbie Learning the Kart Ropes. Lots of Questions...HELP!?

Ok, got the kart up and running and took her on her maiden voyage. Got to the end of the block and back before I had some issues. Id love some help on these if anyone has some suggestions. 1) the live rear axle doesn't allow the rear wheels to spin independently so turning was almost...

Newbie Learning the Kart Ropes. Lots of Questions...HELP!?

Thanks. Yeah the caliper could mount closer, but it wouldn't really be doing anything, the pads inside are completely on the rotor, so I think that's good for now. As for the dash,...yes, it kinda far away, I wish I had done the steering support later. I basically guessed where I thought it...

Newbie Learning the Kart Ropes. Lots of Questions...HELP!?

Continuing the updates on the kart. Waiting on a final part for some of the circuitry that I borked. Otherwise, u just need to make a seat and finish the dashboard and she should be ready for her maiden voyage. Fingers crossed the engine can push this thing. I am struggling to get enough...
