Definitely does not need a good old fashioned clutch, however getting a sprocket for the electric motor in a challenge....The sprocket I have that suit the orginal chain and larger sprocket from the kart has a 1 inch diameter however the electric motor shaft is 3/8 of an inch.

I saw the electric motor mount in your pictures.I will use a plate too to help secure the motor and stop it from spinning. I will be able to use fastener straps for the rest as it is only a 500 watt motor. I think I have that covered now ...cheers
