You're right there is no "valve train". I meant piston, and clutch chain sprocket noise. ---------- Post added at 09:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:43 PM ---------- I gave up on the muffler. He is fine with it, especially with Helmet on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJ9L4j1deiU

well, I fired it up and it didn't really help that much. The muffler reduced the pop, pop, pop sound of common 2 stroke sine wave but the mechanical valve train noise is still there which is understandable. It was bogging down also and running a little rich. Well, while I'm waiting on the pedal...

So, I bought used Scooter muffler and header off Craiglists for cheap to experiment. This muffler is off 50CC 4 stroke scooter. Cut off the flange off the scooter header and made my own header (excuse my welds). The huge muffler is right behind his back seat, not feeling good about it but there...

It would be nice to make it quieter so we can take it to empty lots and set up cones since the go kart track is 45 minutes away. I'm thinking of this muffler out of scooter. http://www.ebay.com/itm/400514660214?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

    Greeting from Pacific Northwest!

Got all the switches to work. Love the kill switch push button. This will shut down the power to controller (basically battery disconnect). The voltmeter is also connected to this switch. The voltmeter also a good indicator how well the charging unit works. The ignition switch has the green...

I think we both have fun:thumbsup: He gets to drive flat out and I get excited seeing his smiley face when he was beating his own lap time ( we set up cones on our cul-de-sac)

I'm having scope creep on this project... Machined a plate to mount switches. The green indicator light is on when the "ignition key" is on. The rectangular slot is for voltmeter indicating the battery life and the bottom rectangular slot is for headlight switch. I'm running separate step down...

    Minimoto E-Kart Controller upgrade

So, the forward/reverse switch would be wired between the motor and controller. If you have the key switch, do you even need the on/off switch? Thanks for responding.

    Minimoto E-Kart Controller upgrade

Hey guys, I bought this Minimoto karts non-running with few mechanical issue. I made it run using scooter controller and fixed the mechanical issue (steering, brakes system, and body panel mostly). Now it's time to work on the electrical portion of it. This is the controller that I have. So...

    Greeting from Pacific Northwest!

Couldn't find steering shaft, so I cut out the middle section that got bent, got 1" DOM tubing and plan to weld it back together. Probably tack it as assembled and finish it off the Kart. Removed the spindle from the kart and machined the top and bottom bearing surface for 1/8" Delrin washer...

    Greeting from Pacific Northwest!

So, Turns out the steering shaft is bent. Been trying to find replacement for hours with no luck, I might have to get stock/off the shelf shaft and modify it. I also feel like the ackerman arm can be a little longer to slow the steering rate a little and hopefully with bigger steering wheel...
