That is an awesome idea, using the jack-shaft assembly as the pivot for the swing arm, I will have to try that on my next project.

I didn't realize this was an argument forum, I was merely sharing what is working for me on a project presently but you go ahead and finish saving the world from people like yourself.

You guys seem to have it all figured out! You could probably also say you can make your own ocean one drop at a time, take a look at how almost all suspension karts are made(engine mounted to the swing arm) atvs are done the way you are explaining Captain Obvious. Keeping it simple is all I suggest.

What size engine are you looking for? I put a 5 speed manual 138cc on a off-road suspension kart as my first build project and with it geared right I can pull the wheels off the ground. I am not sure what the top speed potential is, it is all in the gear ratio.
