Need info On racing cart’s from the 80’s-90’s

I scored a new in the box Briggs Raptor engine the other day and I’d like to put it in a period correct chassis. Do any of you guys have pics or info of carts in the period of the late 80’s to the early 90’s? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks Dusty

Predator 420 exhaust diameter new header issue? Advice?

I don't think the pipe diameter (within reason) is that big of a deal on that type of engine. The exhaust is under a lot of pressure once it gets there anyway. Length might shift the torque curve a bit, but if a person could really tell the difference might be debateable? Anything is better than...

    Chain lube...

If I were to do this I'd go with a B size belt. You'll have to go to a industrial supply store to get it and the shieves. (Pulleys)

    Chain lube...

I agree with your point of view. I also think if a person replaces a chain with a belt say from the engine, straight to the axle the belt wouldn't eat much more or less power than a chain, but the maintenance would be much less. I've had belts last 10 years on shaker screens if aligned and taken...

    Subaru Robin EX17 Problems

Be careful and don't ground it next to the plug hole. I saw a farmer do that and it shot a 6 foot flame out the spark plug hole when it ignited. Old John Deere 620 two cylinder. I gotta admit it was cool but the farmer just about soiled himself.

    Chain lube...

Not sure why a belt would eat 20%power? I've replaced chain drives with belts and did not up the electric motor to compensate for it and had no problems. I'm just saying in my line of work (rock crushers) chain drive anything is almost nonexistent. Maintenance with chain drives in that...

    Chain lube...

I don't know why belt drive wouldn't work. All of my rock crushers and most of the conveyors at work run belts. I have 200 hp motors running 6 to 8 belts and don't slip a bit. In my experience belt drive is far superior than chain in dirty dusty rock crushing applications. Go with the b size...

That's all I could find to stuff in there. Glad it made it in good shape. I don't think it's got much run time on it. Enjoy my friend. Oh my name is Dusty. Esfoder is an old navy acronym. And I definitely can't tell you what it means on this site. I'd get booted for sure.
