So a tav style slips on the motor shaft and the secondary pully is on a plate off to the side, connected by a belt. On the sec pully you connect it to the sprocket with a chain
Speed chart says it will go about 20 at 3600rpm. The governor is still intact so i can make it faster. What about exhaust/muffler? Does that effect speed? I am starting to wonder if this is for my son or me.
So i bought a t 72t sprocket and the guy said if it does not give me good combo of speed and torque he would exchange it for a 60t. He also said the 13 inch tires were to big for the go cart. Is that true?
Thats it. Also does any one have an idea what the diameter of the 54t sprocket for the carter kart would be. i am going to buy a larger one today. what would be the best size? 72 or 60t
Its a comet clutch. but i have to buy a new one because the kart will move when i start it. i would rather have more tourque than top end. This us for a seven year old. I really want to put a TC on it but I do not have the funds right now.
I will have to count the teeth tonight. i am at work and the go cart is at home. i will count them tonight. i can tell you it is an old 2 seater carter go cart. The ones that were low to the ground and did not have roll bars
Ok i did not count the teeth on the sprocket but the clutch has 10. It is a size 41 chain. Also the clutch is getting real hot and smoking. i cleaned the carb and check the chain. It has started backfiring and almost dies when you let off the gas.
This is the only clutch that has been on the cart. It does sound like it is bogging down. the cart does move easily when i push it. I thing the engine may be bogging down now that you said that. What do i need to look at on the engine
