I found this in a 1959 Rod and Custom book that I found while I was going through some of my Dad's old stuff. The date on the mag is 1959. My dad drove the Lil 500 Kart in this region back in the 60's.

Thanks to the long weekend I put the finishing touches on the kids kart. It is a 2009 Legend Optima offset kart. It has a Briggs Intek 5.5. Now its time to play.

Plans are not to race (Just ask my wife) but for now it's just to play around with and just have some fun.

Today I picked up a set of spindles, rear sprocket hub and guard, complete disc brake set up (About $300.00 if I bought it), a bunch of tires and wheels, spindle spacers, seat mounts, rear axle carriers and bearings and all this cost me $0.00........nothing, this guy's wife wants the garage...

Your steering problems are because you have a solid rear axle and you have a short wheel base, should have made it a one wheel wonder.

Plans are to install a cage on the kart also to keep the kid safe. Yes sometimes I have some luck and at the right place at the right time. I have been involved in racing my entire life and know a lot of people. Check out one of my sites: www.rothrace.com

Recieved a new frame last week, a 2008 Legend Optima, it was given to me. A local racer said his kid had flipped the kart and the frame was sent back to Legend and put back on the jig and was straight but he could not sell it. Thanks everyone, I have a new project that I will be building. It is a Legand Optima racing kart frame that was given to me. I going to make it similar to the one I already built but will be for my 7 year old son.
