    Longer jackshaft: any concerns?

Torque converters work really well with governed engines, max torque is around 3500rpm. The torque plates should be polished by the belt and therefore shiny. The torque converter pros will chime in, belts wear, buy the best belt for your TC is -comet- I'm not a TC man, but the guys always point...

    Smoking engine

Did you bed in the rings with 'bedding in oil' it's a specific high ZDDP additive oil. Are you using the correct oil for a splash feed system. Is the pcv getting blocked (it's in the rocker cover) If not oil based is it running rich? check plug colour, aim for a tan colour around the tip ceramic

    The engine tends to stutter

If all the fuel delivery to the carb is good, it's usually down to the gaskets and insulator. Jetting a standard carb for a basic upgrade isn't always required. Take the plug out, it should be a nice tan colour around the tip, whiteish and it's running lean, black and it's running rich.

Sorry in the UK, cost a small fortune to import. Plus I love building stuff.

Fed up with kick back from engine, building a handheld starter! (reposted in this section)

Just finished testing the hand held electric starter. A full strip down and paint to follow, I'll go through the entire build process as a single video

    Briggs 250

I'm from the karting side of things and the centrifugal clutch rules BUT we want the clutch to come in around 2600rpm and snap on, I rev to around 8000rpm, the kart is geared accordingly 17-83 with 10inch tyres, torque converter looks to be the thing for your setup. Denny has a lot of input for...

Fed up with kick back from engine, building a handheld starter! (reposted in this section)

Well I'm still working on the go kart efi engine, I've built another ecu and now have looked at the logs to find most of my issues are with trying to start it. The ecu needs to see a smooth start to stop it resyncing the missing tooth and messing up the ignition events. I have purchased the...

    Carb suggestions???

I wrote a similar post then deleted it, I think ebay may have a 4 carb setup, I wish young posters wouldn't abbreviate words 'thumb text' These posts are around for a long time and can help fellow enthusiasts. High revving engines require fuel injection or a carb for each cylinder. There's a...

    parts for predator 459

Flywheels don't just explode, they have a safety factor of operation. We run a standard flywheel on one of our tarmac karts, this has had the above work done. The 390 falls flat at 5500rpm. The cam and springs prevent it going any higher. In this video we're just sorting the ignition. All...
