    Shifter kart sprocket

I meant to say an entire split sprocket/hub, like this:

    Shifter kart sprocket

Thanks, r97. Those are sweet deals. Wish they had split sprockets, though.

    Shifter kart sprocket

Sweet, good to know. That should make searching easier. Thanks!

    Shifter kart sprocket

I figured I could take up the gap with a bit of thin pipe (pvc or copper) or even just some old bicycle innertube rubber. However, I was just looking at my project again and I might need to work in a jackshaft. If I do that, then I'd have more flexibility in finding a sprocket for an axle.

    Shifter kart sprocket

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I'm having similar problems finding a way to get a 24t or 26t 428 sprocket on my 1" axle. I did just find a few places that sell split shifter-kart sprockets for 30mm axles, and 30mm is about 1 3/16" inches...

Honda CT90 engine on a kart?

True. I've been keeping an eye on Craigslist for old/wrecked bikes, but haven't found many good candidates. I did score a '94 Ninja ZX9R parts bike, but it's going to need some work, and the engine is way too big for this kart.

Honda CT90 engine on a kart?

I've been eyeing a Lifan 120cc or 140cc. The 120cc has an automatic clutch and electric start, and the Lifan kit comes with a carb, CDI, and everything else you need to make it run for $300ish. http://www.dratv.com/co12auelboat.html The GPX and Piranha engines seem pretty similar. I guess...

Honda CT90 engine on a kart?

Does anyone here have experience with using an engine from a CT90 or one of the Lifan clones on a kart? I've tried searching around but haven't found much. They seem like they'd be perfect kart engines since they're cheap, reliable, and have their own clutch and transmission. Plus, since...

    Name this TC!

That's cool. By switching gears, do you mean just changing my dual belt pulley sizes, or actually cracking the reducer open and putting different size gears in it?

    go kart tires

Decent prices for tires, but I seriously doubt they come with rims.

    Name this TC!

One's a Honda GX180, and the other is a Techumseh 6hp. You're probably right about it being a 2:1 reducer. These were kiddie karts from an old local gokart track. Are they worth anything used? I wouldn't mind ditching them in favor of a TC cause these suck at climbing hills. Of course I'm...

    Name this TC!

They do have automatic clutches within. That's why I thought they were TCs. I suppose they could just be reduction gears, cause it doesn't feel like it has a lot of power at low speeds, but once you hit about 10mph, it hauls *** up to 25mph. Maybe I should just crack one open and see.

    440cc Gocart Possible??

Sled engine-powered buggies are the best. You've got tons of power, and an automatic clutch and TC that can all withstand the power. As you'll probably get going pretty fast, something with suspension is a good idea. A common setup is to have your rear axle on a swing arm, with a jackshaft...

    Name this TC!

I picked up a pair of identical karts, and they have these sealed TC assemblies. I haven't found any identifying marks, so I can't look them up. I wanna do some maintenance on them, such as changing the oil, but I don't know what oil to use. Anyone recognize these?

    Alternator/dynamo idea help.

Why not just rig up a $30 Chevy alternator like here? http://www.diygokarts.com/vb/showthread.php?t=451
