I'm starting my first kart too. Found a briggs engine in texas, having a local welder do the frame. Bought a bunch of steering and throttle parts online from an american based company but a few of the parts were made in china.

I have 2 kids just old enough to ride a kart so I bought one HEAVILY used kart and one new from Northern tool. Now I'm looking to build my own. The plan is to use a cooler as the body, cart name "too cool". The kart will be a 6 horse single seater, just enough for the kids to have fun in. So...
