People have made stand-alone turbo's spool up all the way. There are also people who add a turbo to a burn barrel (those turbo's overspool and tend to blow up). And most of the pressure/gasses already get removed from the cylinder, because the exhaust valve is floating. The pressure inside the...

Seems you didn't understand the concept. The turbo prevents the back-flow of old exhaust gasses. There IS a serious risk of having the fire go into the turbo (intake side), because there are times when there is a full open space between old gasses (unburned fuels, rich mixture), slower burning...

Being "a skeptic" is totally fine. But did you at least understood the concept? By creating intentional valve float on the exhaust port, you're pushing more hot more expanding and more energy straight into the turbo. And leave just enough pressure, to keep the piston moving up and down. (hence...

Managed to get a near-full parts list for the project I had in mind. It will likely cost me about 400 euro's, and that's excluding unforseen issues. So I won't be building this project. What the project plans were: I had planned to put a "RHB31/VZ21" turbo onto a 3hp 127cc briggs and stratton...

Better intake springs 3hp B&S flathead?

Been looking at the parts lists and getting a price for the entire project. Going to cost about 400 euro's, which I'm not willing to pay for a laughs and giggles project. Will post in my intro page what my plans were. This thread can be locked.

Secret sauce. It's going to be more then plenty. ;) I was aware of your concerns, but they don't apply.

Better intake springs 3hp B&S flathead?

I had planned on adding an alternator as a dummy load. But those are all minor details. I created this thread to find a component which I'm struggling with. I'll be placing the carb infront of the turbo. I'll be going to overrev the engine by a small margin. (4200 rpm) Over reving and feeding...

Better intake springs 3hp B&S flathead?

I've done much research on this particular issue, and I found a way to bypass that issue you've mentioned. And I didn't encounter anyone else who had the same plans. If I end up not building this turbo project for whatever reason, I'll give the "secret" away.

Better intake springs 3hp B&S flathead?

I had to mount the engine this way for multiple reasons. It already didn't fit. But pre-turbo plans, this was my only option to make the tank/carb fit the frame. And to keep costs down, it made sense to ME, to go with a friction drive. That "drive train" in it's current setup was made from scrap...

Better intake springs 3hp B&S flathead?

My "party trick turbo setup" requires a flathead. Other engines would self-destruct.

Better intake springs 3hp B&S flathead?

It's an abandoned unfinished project at this point. I had planned on using rods to push/lock and pull on a rod to lock the friction drive roller onto the rear wheel. Should add loads of force you don't see on more normal setups. Maybe weld a bit around the roller, so it gets loads of spatter...

Better intake springs 3hp B&S flathead?

I'm sure I had added a YT link, but I'm guessing it got auto-removed because I'm new to these boards. I'm sure it'll be going FORWARD. The engine is facing the CORRECT way, so I might get some kind of ram scoop going on. You might want to look again at the pictures. It's a friction drive. The...

Exactly @ shipping costs @landuse . It needs to remain a for-fun project, without breaking the bank. And when shipping costs are 2x the price of the actual part, that's not ok. (this turbo project is going to cost me way too much moneys as-is already...) Do you know what part number I should be...
