    CBR600r Kart Build

I don't think the crushed tube will be an issue.. There isn't a huge ammount of weight/ force on the front struts. With the engine under hard acceleration the force will try and pull it up and back with the rotation of the chain. (there will be another support going from the rear of the...

    karasaki 500cc Kart Project

@ Custom shifter Money pit? Psssh.. It's never about the money. @ Flower man I'm based in Northamptonshire. My skyline has the HICAS system. So driving normally it only drives the rear wheels but as soon as there is a variation in speed between the rear wheels the front wheels kick in and the...

    karasaki 500cc Kart Project

Ooooh almost. I have a Nissan Skyline R33 GTS thats curently waiting for aftermarket wheels from Japan. Soon to have a bike carb conversion courtesy of Bogg brothers engineering (another hobby that's a drain on my funds) Far too many projects going on at once! I get the new engine out of the...

I'm a development engineer during the week, but faff about with vintage engines/ japanese cars in the evenings. Ha! Sounds like an engineering alter ego..

    CBR600r Kart Build

Unsure how the combination of brazing and welding will turn out. Although with the extra bracing to stop the sag in the centre of the chassis it won't flex so cracking welds shouldn't be a problem.. No 50mm bearing carriers I'm afraid. I need to get hold of an axle and bearings/ carriers...

    karasaki 500cc Kart Project

No progress as yet. Stripping down 2 Dakota DC3 engines with my spare time at the moment.. Got the throttle bodies off this evening (I could fit my arms down the centre of each barrel!) HUGE! Need to order an axle and bearings/ carriers to jump on it when I have time.

Evening Jordan, Out of curiosity how are you mounting the exhaust/ radiator if the engine will move +/- 15mm with the chain tension? Adjustable mounting brackets?

    CBR600r Kart Build

@ Jordan: I have no idea what frame it was. It was in a pretty poor state when I got hold of it. After bead blasting and a dust off it's solid underneath. @ CustomShifter: Didn't find anything.. I take the occasional browse at eBay now and then but still nothing. The police said that it would...

The forklift looks a bit much :) but I was working on my own lugging the engine on and off to fabricate the mounts..

    CBR600r Kart Build

2nd time is a charm! After the first kart was stolen its time to dust off the racing slicks and try again. FASTER + LIGHTER! Few pics of (slow) progress on the frame and brake assembly.

Hi, It was the original radiator off the GPZ I think.. It wasn't a great fit because of the width of it. (it looked plain odd sat flat towards the front of the kart) On the new kart I am using twin radiators off a crf250R should look great mounted either side of the seat! (only cost £45 too) I...

    karasaki 500cc Kart Project

Hi Jordan, I made a similar kart a few years back http://www.diygokarts.com/vb/showthread.php?t=5719 I over-estimated my weight and it ended up being heavy on the right hand side. It's a bad idea to put the clutch on the gear lever. It got annoying very quickly! Starting a CBR600r 100+ bhp...

Kawasaki gpz 500 kart build pics.

Called the police the day I found it had gone. (I called my brothers first thinking it was a practical joke) GUTTED.. But after a few follow up calls it doesn't look promising getting it back through the police finding it. I have been contacting bike/ kart shops all week asking them to look out...

Hi all. This Kart was stolen from my garage last week. It wasn't running at the time due to electrical problems. So they are probably wondering how to repair it. If there are any enquiries about this go kart please let me know. 3 years building it and I only got to drive it twice..! The...
