Mac.... I got a 13in Macbook pro for xmas. If you're into media/movie editing/music/photos (which I am) of any sort it's the best out there. Every movie you see in the theater is created on a mac. It's the best computer Ive worked on so far. I'm in a radio class in school. When we pre-record a show, or make commercials it's all made up on GarageBand.
And the trackpad really is amazing. The only time you really need to click on anything on the screen is when you want to select something. Scrolling/going back and forward through pages are all multi touch functions on it.

It has 4gb of ram and 250gb HD. And whatever processor goes with that combo. Everything is basically just a step up from the base model. I'm going to get more ram eventually, but it's good for now. The only thing I've seen from apple that I'm disappointed in are their in-ear headphones I just bought. For 80$ they have no freakin bass at all. Im going to see if best buy will take them back because I cant stand them! lol

show me a MAC that can compare..
Price wise there isn't one....but you get what you pay for. If it's something somebody cant afford Im not bashing what they own at all. With a Mac you pay partially for the branding and partially for the technology. But everything is American designed that comes from apple. And Im willing to pay a little more if it's american and works.

The headphones though, were def not worth it lol. Invest in Sony if you want some good in ear headphones. They're half the price too.

lol i think the biggest processor in the 13" are 2.5 ghz i believe and the most ram you can get is 4 gb sorry to burst your bubble lol if you want 8 gb of ram you need to up to a 15" model, and on a mac 4 gb of ram runs like 12 on a pc lol ive never actually tried their headphones so i wouldnt know, i absolutely hate there mighty mouses tho, the worst product they have ever made by far

All MAC has done is made their operating system more user friendly, more "slim" (compare a iPhone with a similarly priced Windows Mobile phone), more "sexy", and perform all that in a underpowered computer.

Video editing = PC. After Effects, Vegas, vocalizers and stuffletts, for the win.

I'm packing a Q6600 @ 2.4GHz (65nm :(), Gigabyte P43, DDR2-1066 4GB in dual channel @ 4-4-4-12, Rosewill LGA775 4 pin coola, HD4870 512MB, and a little 160GB HDD

EDIT: All powered by a $30 600W PSU with 39A @ 12v rail.

CUSTOM BISHES :cheers2:

i have a custom tower with the new intel core i7 quad, running it at 2.66 Ghz right now and i have 8 gb of ram and 2 ATi 4870 x2's. Im currently running windows 7 and to be honest i hate it just as much as vista. I love my mac because it is sooooo much more stable and works wayyy more efficiently than anything windows can put out. Mac's dont get viruses but they can host them. Pc gets viruses and hosts them. hmmm im pretty sure apple is still the better company here. My mac runs better than my custom built tower with way better hardware lol

i would never buy a 230 dollar computer cause it will die within the next 2 years lo, you buy a mac mini for 640 and it will last 5 times longer than that thing guaranteed
