ah the infamous blue clone. yeah they are good engines for a yard kart. and if you wanted to spend some money it would make a decent racing engine as well. but yeah its a reliable engine form what we all hear, (and alot of us use it) if you wait till after chrsitmas they will be like 120$
Yup, a lot of guys use them. And there are tons of aftermarket parts for them. You can get 8-10 hp out of them easily. The guys at AGK claim their 265 cam made a little over 13.5 hp on the dyno and its only 50$.
kazkepox you got to it before me! lol. I needed to go back and check my email to see what they told me the cam made hah
well if your just going for a budget build, check around on craigslist for a briggs flatty or an old honda. but if you want a new engine, the clones is the best way to go.
I got 2 flatty blocks with a bunch of peices, carbs, and whatnot. maybe enough to get one motor going. they are all just leftovers. one block has a stuck valve and the other has a seized bearing.
brakes go on the go on the kart...but no brakes. but as for a kill switch you could get one for like 89 cents at your local radio shack, its nothing but a simple up and down switch. but if your asking about the wiring to the motor, yes, that goes on the coil and I got that.
the prices fluctuate every 2 months or so. just a supply/demand thing. when it goes down it goes to about 120$ but it might be lower since it will be after christmas.
