If you look at the print ads from back in the day, they were marketed towards college age youth as a means to get across campus and the bikes had head lights and tail lights installed. Folks used to know hand signals back then too, so that sufficed for turn signals.

There might be some states where you can *(license) plate them*. I think there’s some rural area cities where ATVs and UTVs are road legal so that’s what everyone drives. A very different time with more FREEDOM.
