Mr. Smiley is my best work. It distracts everyone, so they don't notice my welds.
Started playing with ideas and pieces for the rear center section. Theres gonna be some serious tork induced stresses in this area as the chain tries to relocate the axle somwhere in the oil pan. Probably should make it stout!
The MTL scrap heap comes to the rescue with 1/4 inch plate. The same 1/4 stuff back in post 516. Drilled and ready to go. Gotta figger out what to do next.
The chain is way over on the left side.

Worked on making a prototype upper A arm for the rear suspension. The part came out ok, but my welds are horrible. I just can’t see well enough any longer.
9 months ago l suffered a stroke. In addition to scrambling the few operational brain cells l had, l also lost some vision. My right eye is half dark and the other half is blurry. As a result my depth perception is off and l have trouble with contrast. Bright welds and surrounding area dark. Some have suggested l use a welding helmet. I don’t know….
l’m not complaining, l’m just happy l didn’t become a complete vegetable!
being a partial vegetable is bad enough.
l never was a good welder, but l could do ok. Not anymore. I tried adding more light which helps some, but my welds an embarrassment still. I’m open to suggestions, if anyone has one. I’m confident the welds are solid and strong, just fugly…
lf you can weld and have time we could use you! We offer a generous compensation package, consisting a of free residence in out oppulent dungeon facility. 3 bowls of gruel daily and $1/day. Apply in person only.
So, without further adoo here is the pic for your entertainment.
