Grabbing this up tomorrow. Supposed to be a close copy to the rupp narrow hoops. I’m thinking about converting this one to duel engine for my pops to race in.

It’s a cyclops and it’s a good one. Frame is awesome nothing that I have seen wrong with it. Po cracked the wheel. The only task left is removing the rear rims from the live axle. Everything else has been very easy and simple to pull apart.

You know I’m painting it black… I let the torches go on the rims and walked away. Came back outside 20 mins later and hit it with candle wax. The rims slid right off.

Casualties are down to both pedal bolts snapping and a few rim half bolts snapping. Everything else was easy! I’m looking around for a second engine mount.

I had a minibike with a 12t-60t gearing on a 5” tire. It was wide open blast then let off no real speed but lots of torque. Not what I want for the kart but I’m stuck with 5” tires. Maybe a 12t-54t setup so it’s a bit of a longer gear for the streets?

I don’t have to do ANY work to the frame like the last duel engine kart I made. This one will be as simple as welding down an engine mount and making sure there are two sprockets on the axle instead of one. Purchased the engine mount yesterday. I’ll purchase to 54t sprockets today. And I have both clutches/chain in house.

Slam this thing straight back into service. The crankcase cleaned up now to clean up the bore and valve guide area. Easy work.

I still have to order two throttle cables but there is everything for a duel engine kart ordered and on the way.

Good enough for what I’m doing with it. All that’s left is to clean up the bore and like the rest of it there is nothing wrong with it.

Right. Most people would look at that engine with the cylinder head missing, once full of water, the piston appearing to be seized in the bore and all the oxidation and consider it to be a lost cause. But they are easy to resurrect by a mere clean-up and adding almost zero new parts. Only thing I typically replace is the con-rod as there's some galling there invariably.

The engines are indestructible.. The parts were CHEAP in my opinion. Two sprockets on that order for the $91 price tag. The engine mount is worth the price tag.

I got the kart on trade anyways so $200 spent on parts + paint/bolts it’s really an extremely cheap twin engine. I have the rods/flywheels etc..

Not it’s intended purpose but it does a magnificent job of knocking rust off stuff. I’ll finish up with another light coat of paint on the small stuff tomorrow.

I’m about to the point I need two engines together running and bench tested. And the actual parts to ship so I can assemble. I’ll weld the second engine mount on first. Then go over and paint the frame.

Getting everything so when I touch it it doesn’t turn me into a greasy filthy mess… Now to clean up the wheels and toss out that wheel half. Once the wheels are done about all that’s left is two engines and the frame. I can slap the engines together today. I can’t do anything with the frame till the second engine mount plate is welded on. New hardware is unusual for me. Most of the time I’m cleaning up the old rusty bolts.

Two wheels left to clean up and paint. Both engines need cleaned up and assembled. Then I really can’t do anything else I need the engine mount.
