Will this be worth it?

how much money do you think I could get for this when I’m done? Obviously I would clean it up a little but a rough estimate would be nice since I’m newer to this kind of stuff.

I probably will sell it after the race as-long as I can get more than what it costed me to make. I want to try and make more money to buy my first car/truck ( I want to get a 1997 Silverado or a 1999 jeep Cherokee or maybe a 4Runner but they are way more expensive and add a lift and tires to either one.)

Ahh the ideas! I tried the same thing, once my first was done,I just wanted a PS4 or something with the money, I made a listing on Craigslist, but nothing, though it was rather bad but it had a 6.5 hp Briggs, custom stack, bright LEDs, gearbox, and a battery. Could be just bc it was Craigslist, even marketplace though, most of them have been on there for a few months. Everyone who tries to sell their kart wants the most of it, but people just don't know the work or effort put into it, just the looks and performance. I tried at least $400-$500 for mine, but with that money, they
could buy a little 2-seater Manco if they wanted a go-cart. I say it's worth a try though!:wai:

I'm also kinda new to this as well but, seeing as yours is about $350ish for the plastics, and the engine may be $150-$200, it possibly is worth $500-$600 with labor if wanted, but yours may have a chance as it is something not commonly found on market place or online.

Marketplacr is hard I made a very very solid fun bike from scratch. probably $120 into the bike.. After listing it for $300 and waiting weeks I settled for $175.. ON the other hand I was about $200 into this blue gokart and flipped it for $450 it was only listed for like an hour. About $250 into the margay and only got $375 when I sold it. The problem right now is Christmas is like 14 days away or something.. Marketplace prices on stuff like this has PLUMMETED due to people wanting Christmas money. Two bikes on marketplace I have been watching price dropped $400 a few days ago. People need Christmas money. The best deals to get are right around this time.

In post #141, you ask how much do you think I could get for it? I think it is going to be a VERY tough sale. Maybe another 13 year old kid, but then they don't have any money. For a parent ( the people with money ) to buy it for their child the thing looks way too high centered. Like it would tip over and hurt the kid the first time you went around a corner. It really doesn't look safe. It's not a kiddie car, it's not a quad, and it's not a go kart. Those are things adults are willing to spend money on for their children. You don't have any of those. After the big race ( win or loose ) you should probably pull the engine off, and any other usable parts, sprockets, chain, clutch, ect. and throw the thing away. If you think that you are going to build stuff ( karts, bikes, ect.) and sell them for a profit, I'm afraid that you have a hard lesson to learn. People build these things as a hobby, and for the fun of riding them. I know every once in a while someone will sell one for a small profit, but that's the exception, not the norm.

Absolutely nothing unfortunately. It's value is ONLY what you will have learned in do's and don'ts.

If it were something I had built, after the race win it lose I'd tear it down, and salvage as much as Absolutely possible; as in restore the chassis to back to what it was, or add to it to make it something better. I'd trash the body because not only is it ugly, but a larger wider 2seater body would have been a much better choice.

There's a lot of useful parts there for someone as unorthodox as I am when it comes to building things that really shouldn't be built, youve shown room to grow and very probably in that exact direction.

I'm probably the only one on this forum looney enough to take a 1979 Ret-Bar 2wd trike axle with a 3speed Shimano Jackshaft coaster hub (some if the old heads know what that is Im sure) and power it with a 4 speed CR70R engine. That thing would fly.
I took it around corners a whole lot faster than most here would dare trying. I'm Generation Honda ATC, I know how to ride 3 wheels and keep it planted shiny side up while blasting a corner.

You can laugh all you want but DONT TOUCH THE METAL AFTER YOU WELDED IT. I for some reason thought it would be a good idea to see how strong it was and I burned the h*ll out of my finger. It burned for about 40 seconds then went numb and I can’t really feel my thumb still. Some people said I must have burned the nerve in my finger or something IMG_1009.jpeg

I get myself burnt accidentally on occasion, by either not wearing my welding gloves, or just plain not thinking it will still be that hot after 5minutes. You'll be fine, it might be the first time, I can promise you as much as it definitely won't be the last.

Its more fun when you manage to set your shirt or jacket on fire 🤣

This will probably sound really dumb, but somtimes people put 50 gallon drums on the exhaust of there truck to sound louder. What if i put a paint can (like the metal cans of paint for a house) would it sound cooler or different?IMG_1012.png
