Picked up a 80cc honda dax clone from a friend, got if for 0 bucks (electrics, carb and other small stuff was includet!). If i fix the little hole in the block it'll be as good as new (JB weld 'll do it). I've test run it and it runs really well. Somebody wasn't carefull with the angle grinder, thats why there is a hole in the block...

Any idea what i could build with it? Maybe i could use it in my mud mower.... I also was thinking of a trike, but it needs a diff, too complicated, maybe a mini bike? what would you guys build with such a engine?

That would be a great Gokart engine, with gears to boot! And they make big bore kits for them too! Looks like a lifan engine.
Yes it would be, i could use it in my full suspension gokart- I can choose between this engine and a 200cc honda GX clone. The cool thing about the dax engines is: parts are easy to get and cheap. Another funfact: I could put a 125cc honda dax cylinder on there without problems, if i buy one.

Hodakas were a very fast and cheap Japanese motorcycle of the late 60s-early 70s built for the American market. Off road only! They were great bikes with great names. I had a Road Toad!
ahh allright, Thats cool, i looked it up on google, cant get those things here in germany

Unless you used to hit the same tree like I used to do. Or run the engine on straight nitromethane and caster oil. Then they don’t last real long.:furious2:
Yeah, them air cooled motors don't like much heat.... I once "blew" a top end on one of those china honda dax engie clones from drifting too long on ice, Piston rings where non existant after that..... I use the rc nitro fuel i have at home to test if old motors will run, good starting fluid, but EXPENSIVE (1liter=18€) I managed to get a old weedwacker started on that stuff, poured a few drops straight into the intake. After i pulled the start cord that motor was revving SO high (i did not touch the throttle, it also was not stuck), when i tryed to kill the motor by taking off the spark plug wire, it just continued to run, no idea why :ROFLMAO:

Nitromethane is an explosive fuel not a fire fuel. So heat and compression will set it off!
Yes, but the engine has/had very low compression, not enough to run it on gasoline.... but nitromethane worked well

On 100% nitro I blew the ct70 engine all to hello. Lucky the shrapnel did not kill me! Just a few permanent scars!
Wow, this sounds scary. I once put a spray paint can into a old furnace, It explodet with such FORCE it blew the front glass of it up into every possible direction it could fly to, it was everywhere, nearly hit me in the eye, but luckily it did not , only had a small scar on my face and arm. I have an old briggs lawnmower i could try to blow up on Rc nitro fuel

Nitromethane runs on a ratio of like 2:1. We have a member here Flyinghillbilly who ran a nitro powered mini bike for a while successfully until it torched the block.
