also, Is There Anyway Of Knowing What Kind/size Engine This Had On It? What Size Engine Should Be On It To Pull A 250 Pound Adult? The Kart Is Heavy, It Took Two Guy's To Put It In The Back Of A Truck.

looks extremely home built. doubt you will find any info. as it has three pedals, i would say moto motor. don't see a shifter though. i would cannibalize it, and junk the rest, that is unless you have a good 350cc or larger moto/atv motor.

Geez, that's like the Hummer of all karts. GM 350 engine might
work, or that's too weak Chrysler Hemi would solve all problems
- no no don't do it, I'm just kidding (well not about the Hemi)

Yeah homemade, that kart is well into the mini-sandrail category and definitely a candidate for a 250 cc. (or hopefully larger) motorcycle engine. Sometimes you can find complete/resently wrecked motorcycles priced fairly inexpensively to use both as an engine and general parts donor.

I believe that frame is home built to use with a motorcycle engine setup, so something very sililar. It's very very tough looking and probably weighs in close to the 400-500lb range. If you've got a spare motorcycle engine laying around it'll be fantastic for making a cart out of... if you don't then might I recommend un-Mad Max'ing the cart to lighten it up a bit and throw the biggest motor you got on it and use a jack shaft setup or torque converter setup as Too Fast would say.

seriously, it's a home made frame for a motorcycle type setup. It's a shifter cart.

Thank's To Everyone With Constructive Advice. This Is What I Have, And The Only Thing I Have To Work With. Are There Any Site's , That I Could Learn More About Using A Motorcycle Engine Setup On A Kart?? Thank's Rammasal. I Will Tear The Cage Off. Also Where Can I Find Info. On A "jack Shaft"?

with a big enough bike engine, you won't need a jackshaft. look at your mounts, the two on the frame hold the front or middle of the engine, depending on the engine. the vertical angle iron, holds the back of the engine. on a given bike motor there are minimum two mounts with a max of say five. avg is three to four. two at the back, one or two in the front. if running a bike motor, i'd definitely run the cage till you know how it will handle. front wheels will be trailer type as the spindles look very similar to trailer axles. hope this helps

Yeah, The Spindles Were To A Set Of 100cc Dirt Bike Tires. I Want To Go Wide Like The Rear. I'm Thinking Maybe Something Like A Honda Shadow 600cc Engine. Any Thought's On That With The Weight Of The Kart, And The Weight Of The Rider?

the big cruisers don't make too much in the way of torque though being a v-twin it will be torquey. as far as hp, lemme check. 54hp on a '94 with 37.61lb/ft of torque. using it? maybe. what do you plan to do with it? jump some dunes, just plain haul a$$? the kart probably weighs what 250? the rider say 180 avg? it has a five speed, you may have to change the gearing.

54hp would be plenty for that kart, even if it weighs that much. Think about it, they use vw bug engines in buggies all the time and most of them are only 50-60hp. Like mike said, gearing may have to be changed but who knows, i say if the chain matches up give it a try with whatever engine you find, and change the gearing if needed.

kapn, the older bug engines were 40hp, but the gearing on a cruiser bike is lame. they may top 115, if you are lucky, torque is usually pretty low too

Torque may be low, but you dont have to gear it for 115, maybe 80, and if you took some weight off the kart i think he would be fine. Either way, i dont feel like arguing with you.

The reason i said the bug engines were 50-60hp is because most of the ones in buggys were modified.

Early vw engines started at 36 hp and the most powerful ones in
bugs were the 1600 dual port of 1971 models which put out 67hp
stock. So you are all right. I know, I have 8 of them in various
states of disrepair.

if i were you and you plan on takin this anvil off a ramp put suspention or just forget it. and if you do heavy off roading run low tire pressure or suspention cause that thing will be hell of a ride without anytype of suspention.
