Well it has been a few months since I completed the 3x3 mini bike so it's about time to start a new project. This is going to be my go-to trail bike, so light, simple, and reliable are key.
This is the plan so far:
-1978 ATC90 engine, 4 speed with hi/lo range
-single tube frame like the original 3 wheeler with engine hanging underneath
-single sided frame and forks with 4 on 4" trailer hubs
-custom widened 8" wheels with 22x10-8 Kenda Snow Mad tires
-no suspension, shock under seat
I am leaning towards no front brake for simplicity, but both of my other bikes have front brakes, and I use them a lot, so Im worried about missing them. Do you guys think I need front brakes? If I go rear only, I am considering a small brake on the jackshaft similar to my big 2x2 bike, but then if I lose the chain I lose the brakes..... and no downshifting to slow down either.
