I've had the thought for years of having a manual clutch on a go kart until recently purchased one from 3D Motorsport took a bit to get use to but other then that it is an amazing switch from a centrifugal clutch!! The Clutch itself has less slip and I absolutely love this product, my Kart has never thrown 15' rooster tails and covered 75 feet in 4 sec. very satisfied!! check them out!

http://3dmotorsport.net/

I strongly recommend this clutch due to less slip, less wear, better whole shot (for those who race)

Will post pictures/video

I agree 757 karts, great product and a great bunch their. Even if their product is not the right fit for your application they still help you. Highly recommended.

well the downs brothers back again...

I liked the previous DDowns racing clutch better
(visually!.. technically I'm not entitled to make a judgement since I have tested neither)

Spam.. well, we'll have one eye open at all times :D

I'm in Virginia, what does that have to do with anything, as for the clutch I never got to use, test the old Downs Brothers clutch but their new one is GREAT for my Predator 212 with upgrades pushing about 15HP.

Hey....are you mentally challenged? That would be a red flag to anyone who's brain operates on logic. But nobody is stopping you ...(at least yet)... and I've seen both you guys contribute already....and it could very well be a coincidence...(truth is stranger than fiction) ...but...it's a two way street...

We'll give you the benifit of the doubt...and welcome you with open arms for as long as you guys wanna hang around....but...the ball is in your court.

We're also not dummies here either....soooo....you have free reign to either prove or disprove our suspicions. So....if it bothers you that we should be suspicious....well, we have a strong membership....sooooo....

On the other hand....we always welcome new members that don't come here to make trouble or for simply alterior motives. Prove me wrong...and I'll be the first to appologize and back you 100%.

Like the movie: 'Airplane' : "Looks like I picked the wrong day to join a forum!"

Personally I think the clutches you aren't trying to sell are very compelling. And I love new members making meaningful contributions, of which both of you are clearly capable. And yes, there are "KIDS" here, many of whom know virtually nothing about karting, but are interested in learning more. That's why this forum exists, to help folks learn. There's a difference between recommending solutions and promoting products, however. This is a thread about these manual clutches, they look very nice, it's great to know they exist and I hope they help some folks go fast. Not keeping product promotion in context on other threads is not healthy for the forum in general.

Rant over.

I have an original DBR clutch... It's an alright clutch but it's finicky to set up, that's why I don't use it for the most part anymore.....

Still need pics...

With that being said...
I hope you two new guys aren't PAFR'ing here... FR takes up the unneeded slack already.

Everyone has an opinion and to be honest got home logged into computer and found out I do know 757 Karts, he races in the same group. Been using this forum for some years and after the experience I had with my clutch thought I would share. To be able to post got to join so I did. Not here to promote product just found something that changed my karting experience and thought I would share. As for set up and install on the clutch, harder than a centrifugal but even a 10 year old can do it.

As the owner of 3D Motorsport, I felt that it would be best to not post on any public forums regarding the 3D manual clutch. I find that posts by company owners hurts online forums more than it helps. I'm posting now, not to promote this clutch or my company, but rather to shed some light on a few things being mentioned in this thread.

Beforehand, I would like to take the opportunity to confirm that I am the same individual that started Downs Brothers Racing. I do not wish to discuss the multitude of reasons for why that business was largely a failure. But to sum things up, there was significant fundamental, financial, and moral disagreements between the owners about how the business should be conducted and expanded and those disagreements led to many issues that unraveled the business in quick order. This coupled with technical issues and financial problems led to the dissolution of Downs Brothers Racing. We had what we felt was a good product concept, but had no idea how to run a business successfully.

Now onto the purpose of this post. The individual that posted this thread was one of our earlier customers. He has been using the 3D clutch on his 15 horsepower Predator 212 go kart for about a month without issues. He and his father emailed my company this morning to let us know that the clutch was still performing beyond their expectations. In that email they asked if we had shirts and stickers that they could purchase since they have a race coming up and wanted to represent 3D Motorsport for their own personal reasons. I told them that they could either purchase those goods or receive them for free in exchange for honest feedback of the clutch on this forum so that you folks could direct any questions you might have to a third party customer unaffiliated with my company.

Clearly I did not anticipate a reaction like this but I completely can understand why the posters were called out immediately by the veteran forum members. New accounts, zero posts, both from VA, the list of suspicious factors is long...even so, I can assure everyone that these two are legitimate customers with no affiliation with 3D Motorsport except for the fact that I asked them to provide honest feedback on the forum in exchange for some tee shirts.

The two posters are very good people that I have had the opportunity to talk to on a few occasions both over the phone and through emails. They are great guys and so I feel obligated to make sure that the full story is out in the open for their sake as well.

For reasons that are unclear, they didn't post their video footage. To offer some proof, one of the posters is the driver spinning donuts in the dirt field in the following video between 0:21 and 0:33. All of the other footage is from different customers except for the sprint kart footage (that is me):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBxhAfgWqfA

One other small detail...their kart has a 54 MPH top speed and will also cover 75 ft in 3.8 seconds. Those two stats are independent of each other.

Thanks for reading this post and allowing me to provide some insight as to whats going on in this thread. As stated before, I will not be promoting the clutch whatsoever on any online public forum so this will be my first and last post regarding the clutch. Please private message me if you would like to discuss the clutch in further detail.

Thank you for your Honesty.
We did see your Product here in March.
I for one thought it was cool.
I was rude today to 1 your 2 customers, After he came here and insulted this Forum.
But as far as I am concerned you have cleared the good name of 3D Motorsport.
Thank you

Well I don't think the click of that thank you button is enough to tell you how grateful I am ddowns46,
for making this post..

I was watching this with mixed emotions .. being the one with the freshest broom in town, I wasn't really lucky about how that turned out.
No matter if 757 is your customer or employee; that first post was strange,
but still that thread went in a direction I wasn't too pleased to see;

since again no matter if 757 is your customer or employee, your product deserves better than that!
And really I think with your post above, you set things straight in a way no mod could have;
and most of all ended this very gracefully :D

thank you!

We appreciate your honesty and clarifying this matter. Unfortunately, regardless of the method of the motive, the fact remains the same....however you want to word it...twist it or now try to disassociate yourself from it....you instigated this in an attempt to to promote your product through a third party....and worse yet...for T- shirts?

Sorry....doesn't actually make it any better. Yeah....so...they don't work for you...OR DO THEY? As soon as you you offer compensation to a person in exchange for an action...whether it be a penny or a million dollars...they become an AFFILIATE of your company. Specifically...when that service involves promoting, selling, or distributing your merchandise....

Maybe third time around....you will figure out how business works.

Poboy. out....:surrender:

Have you guys figured out why the clutch is pushing the bearings out and coming apart yet ? I was gonna buy one for my high hp drag mini but after a few phone calls i have changed my mind really quick. I don't want it coming apart at 80+mph and me having hospital bills. Cause i am pretty sure the warranty does not cover more than just the clutch.
