Starting with wood. See the custom wood forks? it needs some more work but i can handle it with my non certified-at-building engineering skills.
40 cc motor per each rear wheel for now. Bicycle rims with the basic 1 gear , for now until i engineer a way to put mountain bicycle gears in the right spot.

((YELLOW RAMPS NOT PROJECT MATERIAL) it helps hold it up until im ready.

Here, Let this Soak in. :cheers2:

Nothing is attached. Look how puny that motor is :D (from a Solarra scooter)) But i bet it has enough power for one wheel to move the whole kart. if only i could get these other 2 40cc chainsaw motors to run O.O ... :) i would definitely weld a gear to an axle.

As you can see, i need a tire. .and to go put on another wheel/tire.

Wait a little while longer....so you can be the first idiot build of 2016....:smiley_omg:

Why? This really can work. until i save up for a bigger Briggs engine. and check it out- i can put two 15 HP engines on the back

---------- Post added at 12:33 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:17 AM ----------

i also found something that could be easily used as an electric turbo hooked to a lightweight battery. im sure the engine doesnt need much boost , but it will do something , it has to.

Either that or i will look into dual carburetors. and then i might look into rigging up a bigger fuel intake system to compensate for the electric turbo and..oh yeah.. with all that mixture it is going to back fire so if i make it THAT far.. i will make a custom deep-sounding muffler that will shoot some flames out.
;) dream eh?

Dude, I hate to discourage anyone but maybe you need to find a safer hobby until you acquire better skills and tools. Might I suggest stamp collecting? Wooden go karts and gas engines do not play well with the people who drive them. If I were you I would start reading this forum from one end to the other. The best advise I can give right now.

He may not be a troll, just a little wet behind the ears still with a bunch of dad's tools he doesn't know how to fully use yet. So I will reserve judgment.

Bicycle wheels do not take side loads well. You will have to find both engines to run the same, otherwise you will be going in circles. Wood is not the best material to use either. Bicycle gears are also not made for force generated by gas engines. You will shred them really fast

i'm going to use a briggs and stratton 6.5 hp engine and not little motors. it weighs 40 pounds when wet.

i'm going to support everything as well as i can with wood until i'm able to get my hands on a welding machine and metal. oxy-acet torch would be great.

all kinds of doubt on here :) .. i see it as a challenge.
You DO know most cars these days have only 1 wheel that drives them?
usually it is the front-right.
and people make homemade gokarts with weed-wackers engines all the time.
If i had the stuff i needed, i would cut and weld 2 bicycle rims together and sow 2 tires together to make 1 big tire so it can handle heavier loads. oh, can't forget the camber angle. the tires will need a bit of camber angle for more grip, traction, and reduce chance of rollover.

Anyways.. i'm going with this. http://www.harborfreight.com/65-hp-212cc-ohv-horizontal-shaft-gas-engine-epa-69730.html not bad for only $120

It is not just that we doubt you, it all comes from experience. We have had people try this type of thing several times, and we just know that it never works out. It is also quite dangerous. We are quite safety conscious here on the forum

Dude, there's collectively 100's of years of experience building karts and other vehicles on this forum. 99.9% of the crowd here will chime in to tell you: STOP! I used to think the way you do when I was much younger, but life and the educated opinions of others has taught me to slow down, listen, read and learn. Wood + Bicycle wheels + gas engine = fail.

Now if this is some kind of joke, you got me.

:roflol::roflol::roflol: You GOT me! BTW: (I don't think too many others have caught on yet)!

You beat me to it! I was thinking about a similar build!

Carry on , brother!!!!

He only had me fooled on the first post...once I came back I saw it!

Now the question is....is this someone we know on a borrowed computer? (I have a feeling! ....)

EDIT: If so...you can PM me...(I can keep a secret) ....I've never told anyone Paul wears women's panties!

As soon as I read "weld a sprocket on the axle"....the jig was up!

This kind of stuff is cute and sort of funny. But it's really been done to death already. Besides, why weld 2 bicycle wheels together when there's 2 perfectly good wheels on that table saw?

This is a perfect example of why God doesn't send snow too far south!

A good ol' southern boy would flip them ramps upside down and duct tape 'em to the front wheels!

(Also how I know this guy is from the south!)

Yeah, and everyone puts a 212 Predator on their gokarts....but why not use this one? Take the motor out of the table saw....a short extension cord....and you can really turn some rpms without a billet flywheel!
