Engine mount was Jig welded and has turned out okay.

New wheels for the back with 4 ply tyres!! Might need to step the front up a size or too??

Old 7HP motor was 10kg (22.0462 lbs)

New 16HP motor 28kg (61.7294 lbs)

Awesome build man, can't wait to see a video of this thing running, that motor on that cart looks monstrous, and it's a 5 speed, this build is going along way smother than my build

Don't think of necessarily taller tires, think of wider. Having had one of these karts before, they are not really that wide. Since this kart should be capable of speeds up to 60+ MPH, think about stability. Keep the center of gravity low and the track wide.

Also, I have always been focused on weight. I think the clone engine you had on their was closer to 35 pounds with clutch. So, it is likely the engine weighs only twice as much. So, the kart can easily take the extra load. It is a pretty solid kart.

True because with taller tires there wouwouldn't be enough surface area to grip the road/so all you will do is spin the tires, so with wider tires there will be more surface area which means more grip and less tire spinning

Yes to true your remarks, I agree, but the kart is off the ground due to been used on the beach and rough terrain, will run too sets of wheels for different Situations, the weights given were correct, the kart is wide enough with the 750 tires that are on there now, I feel the weight now will keep the kart on the ground, but time will tell... I do feel the traction with these wheels will be far better, than any other sort, we have had a few racing karts in the park behind us and they all had trouble with traction, and as this is were we will be running it the reason we have gone this way, for road use I would fully agree as to lower but wider wheels.
But let's test it and see, but thanks for the input, great to get feedback..

Yes a video is on the cards, may be not the first test drive in case all is not well :idea2: Yes would of been better and cheaper to buy something already transformed, but where is the fun and Frustration:mad: in that.

So true that's the same thing I was thinking when I started my Go kart with snowmobile engine build, i could buy something fast but it wouldn't be as fun as building a fast one from scratch

Hi, yes, when we made the frame longer, we set it up in a jig and gave the frame a twist back into alignment before welding it. In the drift Karts when you turn, the opposite wheel from the direction you turn lifts off the ground... also the short tie-rod needs to me mounted lower on the center steering bar, also this tie-rod needs to come out about half an inch at the same time, may show in one of the photo's. Will take a photo when I have finished setting it up and post to help you out making the changes.
