My Go Kart Dashboard

So I've been working on this project for a dashboard for my kart for quite some time now. Progress has been slow, but I have a lot of it done.



Features:
Sunpro Supertach II
Sunpro Volts
Sunpro Temperature
Chrysler Radio
Electric Starter (key and start button)
Choke Cable
Headlight switch for headlights and illumination
DC 12 Power Outlet


In the end, it'll be covered in either machined aluminum or black leather. I'm leaning toward leather right now.

What do you guys think of the dashboard so far?

well I can see a bit of them but they are super huge. gota resize them some how. most peeps won be able to even take a half look.

Hey now that I can see it, that looks pretty sweet man! I like the radio in there, but why not a cd player? Just wondering.

I got the radio at a steal of $5, so I'm accepting whatever I can get
I'm likely going to use my iPod with an fm transmitter for personal music and then fm radio.

It's going in a custom built kart, with an air cooled Tecumseh motor. I'm saving up money for a Lifan 250cc motor. I also have an rm250 engine but there's not a starter on it.

Ah, that's why I asked. A temp guage is gonne be pretty useless on an air cooled engine isn't it?

I like it! Sweet tape deck! It would be awesome if you could make the iphone dock into the tape slot.

Here's the two dashes I've made...much smaller than yours. Spotted aluminum finish is a must!

Still has oil, I already tested the gauge by screwing the sensor in to one of the drain plug. Works!

Excellent idea!
Makes me wonder if you could somehow also sense head temperature as well...

You can measure exhaust straight out of the head. I have that on my kart

Not sure if you have them over there but we have floor mats that look like aluminium diamond plate; could be a cheap alternative to aluminium if you decide to go that way...
