here in Ontario you have to write a test to get your g1, do a road test to get your g2 and then do another test to get your full G and you have to wait a year between tests unless you take drivers training. then you only have to wait 8 months between tests.

Apparently Ford had a problem with the section of the wiring running up to the blinker control on the steering column. If you have a tilt steering wheel and you raise it too high, it will short out the blinkers, headlights, taillights, and running lights. It happened to me when I used to own my F-150 about 2 days after I bought it, thought I had a huge wiring problem when it just turned out to be the harness stretching and shorting out. Just wanted to let you know lol maybe save you a headache

here you can test for your permit as soon as you turn 16 (got mine on my birthday) then license 4 months if you take drivers ed, 6 months without.

then you can only drive alone or with a parent(or person who has had their license for 3 years and no suspensions)

then 6 months later you can drive siblings

then a year later your license is full and you can drive with anyone

FIGURED OUT THE HEADLIGHTS AND I FEEL LIKE A DUMBASS. i never connected the stomp switch for the hi-beams. :D

the man i got the tires from had a SWEET truck. it was a 92-96 im guessing. F150 XLT 4x4. with the same rims he sold me, and 33 inch mud tires. extra rear leaf, i think he had a spacer on the front suspension. he said the front tires rub a little but not too bad

i like the look of his truck, barely lifted but bigger knobby tires

lol. sometimes the solution are just that easy.

getting your license where you live sounds easy. here the entire time you have your g1 you have to drive with someone who has had a full G license for 5 years. once you get your g2 there is still have limitation for the first 6 months unless you are over 20 years old or something like than and then having your g2 is like having your G.

it must take forever to get your license...

new wheels! 33's would look better on the truck, they fill in the huge wheel well gaps. after these tires wear out im definitely getting them

headlights and blinkers work! but the passenger side orange light still doesnt. i tried replacing the bulb and still doesnt.

also the emissions system in this truck is a complete mess, the hoses are rotted, pipes are rusted through.

i'd like to remove everything and clear up a ton of space under the hood. im sure the engine would run cooler too.

STEP AWAY FROM THE ENGINE BAY.

Your engine is designed and tuned to be used with emissions equipment. Removing some components (like the EGR valve) will cause your engine to run poorly and result in decreased fuel mileage. Trying to get your engine running properly after removing the emission components will be much more of a hassle than dealing with what you already have.

i don't know if you need 33's on your truck. i think it would look pretty good with some 31's. i know my friend used to have 31's on the back of his ford and they almost seemed to fit the wheel well perfectly.

Before you go that big check for wheel rub, I've got some right now and its a close fit. Keep in mind I actually have a lift on my truck, yours might not fit them.

Copied from the Ontario MTO weebsite:

Class G1

New drivers of passenger vehicles learn to drive with six important conditions with a G1 licence. A new driver must hold a G1 licence for a minimum of 12 months before attempting the G1 road test. This time can be reduced to eight months if you successfully complete a Ministry-approved Beginner Driver Education Course . Drivers earn more privileges after passing their G1 road test.

As a G1 driver, you are required to:

maintain a zero blood alcohol level while driving;
be accompanied by a fully licensed driver, who has at least four years driving experience, and a blood alcohol level of less than .05 (accompanying drivers 21 and under must have zero per cent), in case he/she needs to take over the wheel;
ensure the accompanying driver is the only other person in the front seat;
ensure the number of passengers in the vehicle is limited to the number of working seat belts;
refrain from driving on Ontario's "400-series" highways or on high speed expressways such as the Queen Elizabeth Way, Don Valley Parkway, Gardiner Expressway, E.C. Row Expressway and the Conestoga Parkway;
refrain from driving between midnight and 5:00 a.m.
Note: If your accompanying driver is a driving instructor licensed in Ontario, you may drive on any road.

Class G2

New drivers must hold a G2 licence for a minimum of 12 months before they can attempt the G2 road test. At this level, you have more privileges because of your driving experience. You may drive without an accompanying driver on all Ontario roads anytime. However, you are still required to:

maintain a zero blood alcohol level while driving;
ensure the number of passengers in the vehicle is limited to the number of working seat belts.
For the first six months, G2 driver aged 19 and under cannot carry more than one passenger aged 19 and under between midnight and 5 a.m.
After the first six months, G2 driver aged 19 and under cannot carry more than three passengers aged 19 and under between midnight and 5 a.m. * These passenger restrictions do not apply if the G2 driver is accompanied by a full "G" licensed driver (with at least four years driving experience) in the front seat, or if the passengers are immediate family members.

the tires on there now are 31" so an extra inch (add an inch to each side) probably would be ok. i heard the fronts will rub a little on sharp turns but. but maybe by then i will have enough money to lift it anyways.

or maybe i will move on to a better truck instead of spending so much

this is my friends truck hes on the forums too. he made the exhaust out of stove pipe and dryer flex pipe connected right to the manifold. of course i did the same thing to my gasser lol. sounds good on a diesel but on a gasser its just stupid

now i need like a 4bt cummins in my truck haha

Heh, have you considered an electric or manual cutout?
i think it should be loud enough without one of those.

in my opinion. you should just start saving your money so that when the time comes and you find the next truck that you want to call yours you can jump on it as soon as possible. i would not too much money into it other than basic maintenance. even tho you have repaired the frame i would still not feel 100% safe driving that thing.
