redneck exhaust fix

just as i got into the fields with owen today i hit a bump pretty hard and it snapped off my exhaust.

the noise was just POP POP POP like a gun so we taped it up.. didnt really help though

lol the tape on the cracked part where it comes out of the engine got burnt off immediately but the tape on the bottom held up mostly.

i was afraid on my way back getting busted because it was so obnoxious you can hear it froma mile away haah

yeah but not when youre in the middle of no where with no ride home and limited time

when i got home i just put a stock muffler on it

I am a redneck or piney boy ... I would have just rip the exhaust off and just drove home with no exhaust and could careless it being loud as all hell..

lol i would have but we were on someone elses property so it pretty much says HEY LOOK AT ME! like shooting a machine gun in the air

if you would have drove home with no exaust he could have burnt his valves up because of no back pressure. then he would be really screwed.

i would have, but i do have 99% in parts of another engine.

The whole backpressure/burned valves thing is pretty much a myth. Theres no way that decreased backpressure could cause a burnt valve.

i think that the reason i heard was if there isnt a pipe on, cold air sits in the exhaust port and warps the valve.

i dont know about that because the exhaust only flows out..


every time i went from full-idle it backfired a lot


right now i have a stock muffler on it

But can you say with certainty that the lack of exhaust pipe was the sole cause?

ta-da. used the old flange and made this. gonna have to make a support though so it doesnt break again.

i really want to add a spray paint can to the end of this, securely, to give it the deep throaty tone it had before.

sounds like a lawn mower stock. put a pipe like this on it and it sounds like a small block chevy

schwinn chopper handle bars.

im not building that bike because- frame is WAYY to weak, axles wayy too thin, brakes suck, its a disaster. would be a death trap.
