around the same speed. With a 14 tooth drive gear and a 54 rear ive hit 53

ive always pictured some how applying a mountain bike type system to change the gearing on the fly with a kart. in theory it seems logical.

We have hit on the topic before- general consensus is that the bike parts couldn't tolerate the stresses. Nothing by way of real evidence. I'd love to see this done as a proof of concept.

understandable but im just looking at the concept. im sure stronger parts coul be used. i bet a salt flats runner would try something like this.

Theoretically, my kart should do over 120 mph, never had that much smooth open pavement at my disposal to find out. I'm thinking about 80 is as fast as I've gone, and that's only in 3rd or 4th gear with a 5 speed.

The track I run it it is about a mile, but it has 17 turns in it, it's more of a road course. It's fun pulling the front tires up coming out of a couple of the turns, , you can't really feel it in the kart, but I guess it's happening, several spectators told me they saw it happen.

What about a two-cycle engine from something like a string trimmer, then mounting that on a mini chopper/bike?

I clocked 43.2mph on my manco dingo go kart going down the road with a stock harbor freight 6.5hp with governor. I am going to remove the governer for this year and retest.

120! You need to get out on an abandoned airstrip! And you need to do this now! Oh, and I request a video, the insurance company will probably want to see it as well
