I remember we had a substitute, when i was in year 7-8 (?). That night he was said to be crossing a railway, and was hit by a train. It latter came out that he was parked on the railway.

I dont know, but I assumed that it was part to do with personal problems and, lets just say, he wasn't our favorite teacher around.
It was quite the surprise to say the least.

Nope, not unless they are a tech specific sub. Most of the time they come in with the mind set that we're a bunch of @$$holes and when they come into it like that, we do that exactly. And we do it better than they can take. If you are going to stereotype us cause we're in a shop class, well then, we'll make your day suck. I have had them for other classes and they are all pleasant and happy and nice people. Drop them into a shop and they are just evil.

My teachers wife had a baby & we had a sub for a week. He was the kind that doesnt give a **** though.

subitutes at my school are 99% great lol. we have old guys that just read, another sub gives us coupons to the bagel store, and one guy today basically let us do whatever we want.

We missed monday and tuesday, called off tomorrow already too. Got 4"(most in 8 years) with ice on top. We couldnt get the car up the driveway till about 4

Im just glad they canceled the night before. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools has long had a history of canceling at 4am. its not the dumbest thing they've done though. One time they cancled because of a hurricane, and the day was perfectly clear, no clouds.

haha yeah. I got called snowday at about 9. my school is a private school and we have a rep for being the only school open on LI. we new we were gunna have one though the whole day. and yeah Devino, my middle school cancelled because of icy roads and predicted snow. it was litterally a sunny day about 50. pretty funny

My district is one of 4 large suburban district and there always seems to be a competition as to who can cancel the closest to school. We'll get a delay at like 4am and cancellation by 730-8am when delayed school starts at 920am. We actually had a sub in history today who handed us busy work that the teacher left and then proceeded to play BananaGrams in spanish.

my school always makes us go to school on the first snow day, then all the buses are an hour late, some get stuck, then for the rest of the year they cancel school really quickly, then sometimes it doesn't even snow! no school tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm avoiding a ton of tests and stuff. plus Thursday i have a half day, and we have Friday and Monday off!!!!!!

The roads got iced up real bad and school's been out for the past couple of days for it.

They won't even cancel school here when there is ice and 8" of snow on the roads, even when it's still coming down hard. The roads have been a mess for the past week, it gets pretty hairy in a 2wd pickup with all the idiots on the road.
