Did you try to get her registered on Megan's Law (the pedo site)? Did you press charges for stalking? Did you sue for damages (the camera flash caused retina injury)? Did you claim harassment because she yelled in your general direction? Welcome to America. I wish some things wouldn't have changed from the 50's. If a neighbor kid is cutting your grass and minces his foot, his dad yells at him for ruining his shoes and takes him to the hospital. You pay him out of human decency and pity. Why, and how, did we get to where we are now?

When I was growing up our house used to be out in the country but the town grew out around us. Then we had a lot of interesting encounters. Once when I was in high school in the 1980s a cop knocked on the door and told us that they had received a report that somebody at our place was burying a cow on the property. We said yes, a cow had died and we were burying it. Then he sort of stood there looking stupid for a minute or so because it suddenly occurred to him that there was nothing wrong with this situation except that some goofy neighbor found it alarming. Then he said "Well, OK, we just got the report and we had to, um, check it out. You have a good evening." 25 years later I still think that's funny.

Here's another funny story that happened when I lived in Independence MO, which is a suburb of Kansas City. I had a vegetable garden, and I put my scraps on a compost pile. My neighbor didn't like it because my watermelon rinds were apparently attracting bees. They would never bother him when they had watermelon juice to eat, but he didn't know that. He complained about it, so I put hay over the pile.
A few days later I got a letter from the city of Independence telling me to cease and desist from my illegal activities, which were to be described in detail lower on the form. I looked down the page and found a list of crimes with check boxes. There was a box with a check mark on it, corresponding to "burying trash on your property". I did a lot of thinking and head-scratching, but I couldn't figure out what they were talking about. I thought it was pretty funny that this was such a common problem that they had it printed right into the form, but I still didn't know what they were talking about.
So I called City Hall, and we managed to figure out that my neighbor had ratted on me for my filthy compost pile. I told the lady that it wasn't trash, it was vegetable scraps, leaves and yard clippings. She informed me that according to the city of Independence, anything besides grass and leaves was considered garbage, and that I was in violation of city codes for dumping garbage on my yard. So I told her that I had tomato plants, and I was wondering if a tomato fell on the ground from the plant, would I be littering? There was a long pause, and then she repeated in her stupid bureaucrat voice "Compost is defined as leaves and grass."
These are the same stupid bureaucrats that hired contractors to reconnect all the houses on the block to the water main, and when their contractors put new gravel on the parking spot in front of our house, the city gave us a ticket for spreading gravel without a permit. My wife just laughed at them.
Anyway, I don't think you have to worry about the cops hassling you for your crime of dumping leaves. The stupid woman probably has a miserable life and is trying to bring everybody down to her level.

There are no words to describe how much I hate hate hate nosy neighbors, homeowner's associations, and city "code enforcement". Seriously, GTFO my property, and mind your own damn business.

If you don't bury it, there will be a cloud of stink bigger than you can imagine. Where I live now, everybody has 100 acres or more, and when a cow dies they push it into a ditch with a tractor and forget it because nobody will ever smell it. Back then we had only 17 acres, so everything happened a lot closer to home. Also, it was a lot hotter there (Texas), so large carcasses went bad in a big hurry. We had a horse that died, and we didn't find it for a week. I've never seen so many maggots in my life.
I've heard that you can put two tires against the body, add tree branches, set it on fire, and by the time it's burned out you won't have anything left. But if you have heavy equipment it's probably easier just to bury it. Not only that, by the time we had the visit from the cop about our nefarious bovine disposal the city was already on our case about burning branches. I'm sure they would have blown a gasket if we made enough of a fire to get rid of a cow, especially if we added tires. When I was a little kid, the factory across the road (our old family business) used to get rid of old paint and tires by burning them in large quantities once in a while. You could see the black smoke for miles. Ah, those were the good old days.

On the farm I frequently visit, dead cows are always burried. Not as much for the smell, but to keep unwanted animals away from the farm.
For the first 14 or so years of my life, I considered myself a city folk and embraced it. Of course after spending some time on a farm, I came to my senses.
Are you talking about a dairy type farm then? The cows we raised didn't have a chance to die of natural causes, they either went to the sale barn or the meatpacker. If the coyotes got one, then it would pretty much be gone by the time it was noticed. That was pretty uncommon though, my grandpa and I would be out once every morning to feed the cows, then once again later to count.

Nope, black angus. The cows normally stick around for a while. I think my cousin said they have about 30 births a month. these arent barn cows, they roam around the pasture eating grass until they're ready to be sold.

, when i was 12 i made a LOW power crossbow which would shoot about 20 feet. well i had just met the neighbor and thought 'well why not show it to him, he'll probably like it 
A few months later i found out he had liked it so much he had told his mom with appropriate exaggeration and worried her so she told the addministrator, who in turn asked the local security if it was true that i was running around with dangerous weapons and knives(a pocket knife someone had seen me whittling with)
luckily for me, south american security have lax views about such things if there is no proof, and since my mom had made them cookies on several occasions they gave a good report on me
