While working on the OHV piece of **** mower engine that shouldn't be allowed to be called a briggs I noticed something, the fan shroud had a big hole on the side that blew into the air cleaner, making a sort of ghetto turbo system.

Anybody ever do this to a 5hp panhead to see what kind of gain could be had?

My old mower was like that too. It was a Briggs, but it was all plasticy and junky and was the most problematic mower I've ever owned.

17hp OHV? Piece of :censored: carb blew a seal and filled the case with gas, now it burns oil so bad 2 passes on the yard and the :censored: sump is empty (thats with 20w50 30 weight probably wouldnt make it out of the garage). However IT IS entertaining to watch somebody run it across the yard with the deck down and try to see around the huge white smoke cloud.

I've been trying to do this since yesterday. Saw it on another forum. Briggs used to do this on their engines in the 60's...

I might try it!

Even though it is more of a supercharger than a turbo if you think about it

still, somebody post some pics!

Well I have plenty of ideas haha! I'm actually doing it. I have perfect plans for it, if it works out.

Tip for you guys: Small tubing doesn't do squat. Then there's the problem of filtering out all that crap that gets blown in by the flywheel.

Vaccum cleaner hose should work. Stuffing foam in the mouth of a carburetor isn't.

No, it would be fine because theres that little bar that goes across to hold it up inside the carb. It's not like its going to get sucked in.

ye some motors are lint. I have a motor at school which has a flywheel made of plastic. The engine is finished because the gas doesn't seem to go into the engine
