Safety Statement

Welding can be very hazardous. If you're not an accomplished welder, have someone inspect your welds. If you're new to welding, learn from someone that is accomplished to learn safety and handling skills. Read our our welding tips, but be advised that this site is not intended as an instruction manual for new weldors.

Never breathe galvanized or zinc fumes.

Go karts and mini bikes are dangerous by nature. It is you that must take responsibility for yourself and your life. When you complete your project, we suggest that you take the time to learn how to handle it in an open, safe area. Don't go hot-rodding directly out of the garage!

When using a go kart or mini bike, you are putting yourself at risk. It is up to you to minimize that risk, starting with the design process, and ending with safe driving. Wear a helmet, make a roll bar, wear protective gear to protect yourself. Know your engine and your machine.

There have been many recent recalls of the commercially produced karts for safety reasons. Some of the recent recalls are linked to in the links section. Suffice it to say that horrific injuries can, and do, occur. Unshrouded drive chains can catch loose hair or clothing. Unseen cables can strike someone in the neck. Rollovers can occur, and gas can leak out. Go karts are a lot of fun, and they are a lot of responsibility, both for the parent and the child.
