Hello All! I am looking at building a go kart out of 1" sch40 pipe. I have a Lincoln buzzbox welder (AC⚡DC 225, I believe.) Will that burn through the pipe if I try welding with it? If not, what would be the best rods to use? Thanks!

Honestly if your still asking how to weld, I wouldn't take on making a frame.
Start welding other crap together and learn how to weld first.
I started on a 110v ac only buzz box.
I tried all kinds of rod and welded metal together just for the sake of practice.
A few years later I ran across a good deal on a smaller wire feed.
It was like night and day in difficulty. All of a sudden could weld!

Just my thoughts.
Buy a frame and go from there.

I will definitely be practicing more first, I just wanted to know if I could do it.

You should be able to do it with the Lincoln. Just practice, try to rip apart afterwards by any means necessary. When the welds hold but the material doesn’t. You’re on the right track. Keep practicing until they look pretty.
