This project has been ongoing on OMB figured I’d post here now that I’m making progress

pump is in great condition after cleanup.
I used a gm generator bracket/tension arm to mount it to the 5hp and it lined up perfectly to the starter rope pulley.

I might even be able to cut and squeeze the shroud back on and have a pullcord.

That pump will live longer if you mix a little marvel mystery oil in the fuel. 1oz per gallon of gas should do nicely.
I’ve been thinking about this but honestly didn’t have a clue of how much to mix with the fuel.

Thank you!!

I over planned this and and also got very very lucky with some stuff about it. Made the install easy! Now to mount the pwk with the double clamp boot to the pump inlet.

Then a tube from the pump outlet to the intake manifold pipe. First picture is Justin W’s engine in the hotrod supercharged Briggs 5hp YouTube videos modified to my liking.A56482C1-9D28-42B4-99D8-420C27AA6678.jpeg011AED0A-0933-42B4-9FC9-B0C4BC599951.pngBB4A3B40-174D-4101-BCBC-64D1F9C10D50.jpeg28A2B41F-48AE-4BF3-96E5-74C6071BF745.jpeg

Latham Superchargers which were vane type had a MMO injector to keep them lubed up.
I understand why 13 years ago Justin W chose to use this exact pump from an MG midget..

Vein pump with a plenum it has clamp on inlet/outlet and a pressure relief. It’ll get plugged as the mechanical waste gate should dump anything past say 3-5psi

Not sure how this pump self lubricates as said at the bottom of the picture.. If I could figure out how to hook that up it would also make it live a lot longer.

You do not use a waste gate with a supercharger! You only use a wastegate with a turbocharger! You don’t want a pressureized fuel air mixture spraying around with a spark in an engine compartment or near an engine!!!

It’s a single cylinder and I thought there could be trouble with exhaust pulse? I’m shaving the fins off the intake side and tapping it for the 1/4 right Into the intake port so the pressure dumps right before the intake valve. Then routing the blow off to the exhaust to be burnt up safely? Not the way?

No! That is why you underdrive or overdrive your supercharger to make the pressure you want. Hook up a boost gauge and see what kind of pressure you are making. Then go from there. 3-5 recommended with a vane type pump. The only thing you’ll make is headlines with the explosion from the set up you want to use.

Are you planning on using that as a waste gate?
If (l mean IF) you were to use a relief l would think you would want something more accurate than that. But Denny is right!

It's the carbon vanes that make it self lubricating, but I've replaced many "lube free" airmotors because the vanes wear out and either break or jam. But,these are motors that run 24-7.
