Manco Dingo Drive Belt Problems

Had a manco dingo sat for about a year because it was barely moving and didn’t have the time to properly check it out. Decided to look into it more the other week and noticed the drive belt was pretty much completely destroyed (stretched, teeth missing etc). So decided to buy a new one after searching around for a while. Fitted it (as shown in photo) and it worked perfectly. About an hour of riding later it was struggling to even start driving on flat ground. Pulled the cover off and the brand new belt was already completely stretched and no longer working. What could be causing this and how do I fix it? surely it should be going through a £60 drive belt ever hour of riding? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

See all that rust? That's what ate your belt.
Your going to have to take both driven and driver apart and clean them.

Only lube with spray or dry graphite when rebuilding.

the drive belt only stretched it isn’t damaged at all. would that still be what’s causing the problems?

If the clutches are frozen and not moving properly it will stretch the belt.

ah okay. it seems to all move correctly but i guess it could have some resistance. could the alignment of the pulleys be an issue?

Yea, misaligned sheives will wear belts. Is your setup a 30 or 40 series?
