Did some work on crossmember mounts, I used 6 pennies to space the parts away from "frame" to simulate the heads of threaded inserts, you can see them in picture.20210610_163450.jpg20210610_164557.jpg20210610_170713.jpg

Next was the bracing to tie motor plate to crossmember, I used 1/8 inch shims to space tubes and then welded them together, finished with cheap rattle can to keep from rusting20210610_170454.jpg20210610_154427.jpg

Those are slick little axle stands to hold the axle while you build it.
Denny those are actually the axle to spring mounts! I think a cadd drawing on page 1.

The way this car was built it used a straight axle and flatter springs. To stay with cyclekart theme I used the normal buggy springs, I just moved mounts around.

I plan on a panhard bar or small watts link to center front axle, so leverage doesn't fold brackets or break bolts (highly doubt it is an issue, since everything is very stout)

My orange kart is using the same brake hub and rotor! Locking up the tires is how I turn around in the street

And probably the same spindles! Those BMI units can handle a beating, can confirm.

The build quality goes to 11, and no 10 cannot be made louder. So clean!

Love the masking tape on the drill cord :roflol:

Drilled moar holes, installed anti-crush sleeves and cut out shackles

Now need to get longer bolts, makes a couple spacers for shackles and make 4 double shear brackets so the bolts aren't over stressed...been a good day.

Okay, been a long day and it's hot, just got done for the day with thunderstorms on the horizon.

So started morning off with coffee and a cad program, made a couple of brackets and spacers etc and the went to work.

Made front spring hanger supports, so easy to bend using zero offset in plasma and cutting a bend line be welded later. This is a bracket and a spacer to be welded to frame.

I know they look backwards, but I am still playing off original car some, plenty of clearance and I will need it later for pretty pcs and dental work

Next was squaring and leveling front frame rails by myself
