@Denny this will show axle mount

Next was mockup axle and check clearances

I will have to Z the shackles for Frame clearance, I found out.

May have To clearance top Frame rail, won't know until I drive it, to many variables I have seen on line towards spring movement.

Tires clear at full lock like designed 👌

Front

Rear of tire at lock

Level is bottom of Frame, about 7in of clearance with no wt on it, plan to loose 2 more inches with seat.

So about 4in clearance when done

Last picture for today probably

Wife helped get frame out of ...cough....cough...spare bedroom. Going to set camber at 8 degrees back, and I should have 8 more to adjust. Best thing is if 8 degrees is too much, and can flip axle around and can go up to 0 degrees then.

No dogs, walls or Bansil hurt with wifes help.

Also plan to draw and cutout new shackles to clear frame rails today

🤔

I just quoted myself 🤪

So leveled frame, set caster at -8* and welded in.

If you notice I set -8* at nominal adjustment so I can loosen 8 x 3/8 bolts and adjust it.
20210716_170530.jpg
Lots of back and forth on interwebz about the caster to scrub radius with no camber...ya,ya,ya.....so I made it adjustable
20210716_171332.jpg

And since I built everything symmetrical, I can do a 180* spin and start at +8* so plenty of adjustments are available 😉20210716_171509.jpg

Gotta program and cut new shackles now...
C-ya all in a bit

Got home late as usual, clickity, click....post processor and I made pcs for backbone of rear skin/deck lid, 3 minutes and all parts cut, so nice.

Tons of cleanup and welding still, basically making my on "U" channels at angles. Hopefully all the pcs will be horizontal

I did a couple different drawings and needed 1 inch of movement in center of shackle, gentle radiuses couldn't get me there, these actually only have 1-3/4 clearance from frame to inside pocket. Plus they just look radical for a Victorian Era car ;)

PROOF OF CONCEPT...CONFIRMED....kind of...needs tweaking

So mocked up skin frame attachment points.

20210721_192820.jpg
Set pcs at 25* and clamped together

20210721_193811.jpg
Neat....
20210721_193819.jpg
Kinda lined up, got verticle and top 8" or so level....may have to fudge some.
20210721_193833.jpg
So I have 3 surfaces flush and level....

The journey continues...

So am going slightly askew, made some of these brackets to establish 25* and stiffen this thing up.

Started with paper and pointy thing that writes, start at top and scribble to bottom of page, next it was off to cad

20210730_190025.jpg

Next mockup, the straight pcs will be seat back mounts

20210730_190035.jpg

Worst thing is I am going to have to be very strategic moving forward

With body support attached via welding, I can not get it into/out of current build space, corners and doors don't trig out 😛

I mean the doors and hallway IN the house, I am going to clean out a lean to area this weekend and try to get paint on what I have done to keep rust from humidity down and start building outside

Feels like I do so much mockup...with every one done, I have to make the next fit.
Tonight was proof of concept again, this time on rear angle, I do need to make another bracket, when I mirrored the part it didn't actually mirror it backwards, oops so Vale is backwards on one side, easy fix this weekend. I have the 1/2 drop built in.

Blanket is for photo contrast, since we dont own white sheets 😛
