I just picked this one up and have not been able to ID it. Any ideas?

must be for the shortest person ever. Look how close those pedals are. it looks to be originally setup for dual motors.

Made for the vertically challenged. I made the bracket to move the pedals back so my son could drive it. Working on the brakes now and it is a dual motor set-up.

It had what appears to be two different size motorcycle calipers on it and an unknown master cylinder. It's a dead axle and I'm trying to decide what type of brake set-up to put on it. Suggestions? Looks as if it originally came with scrub brakes.

The great thing is that the way the gas pedal linkage is on this set-up, you have the ability to adjust the speed. I also geared it real low, so it's Barbie Jeep speed right now. Good him to learn on.

You changed the gear ratio? Like changed the sprockets around?
If you just made a throttle stop, that could burn out the clutch after a while...

I totally agree with BM800. If you have just made a throttle stop and not physically changed gears, then you are definately going to be burning through clutches. The RPM's will not be able to get up high enough to fully engage the clutch, and you will be slipping the whole time. This is not good.

If you have a TC, then it is a little different

I'm a car guy - so yes gear ratio meaning the sprocket ratio. This kart was manufactured with a throttle stop in the linkage and I will be using it. I have looked at the TC and it is a good option for the future. I understand the whole clutch issue, but burning a clutch up is a small price to pay when compared to keeping him safe while he's learning to drive the kart. Speed is not the goal here. I'll slowly increase the speeds as his ability to safely operate the kart increases. We're also talking about a 40lb kid driving a kart with slicks on asphalt.

How about some suggestions on a brake set-up. I have been looking at the Airheart calipers. I have an Airheart set-up on my dragster, but how are these little mechanical ones for karts? Worth the investment?
